Statement on the Passing of Alan Colmes

Alan Colmes passed away early Thursday, February 23, after a brief illness.

He was 66 years old.

He leaves his adoring and devoted wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley.

He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn.

He will be missed.

The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.

David Hirsch, a.k.a. Dave "Doctor" Gonzo*, is a renegade record producer, video producer, writer, reformed corporate shill, and still-registered lobbyist for non-one-percenter performing artists and musicians. He lives in a heavily fortified compound in one of Manhattan's less trendy neighborhoods.

This is terrible news, I have been following Alan since the early 90’s! RIP Alan, you will be missed. In the age of right wing radio, Alan was the one voice who spoke for me.

RIP Alan. Didn’t agree with much of what you said, but you were a swell guy and I am tearing up hearing about your passing.

I didn’t always agree with him, but I enjoyed his squabbles with Hannity. RIP.

Like so many here, all I can say is Rest in Peace. I’ve made many online friends here and learned a lot, none of which would have happened without his vision for this page

We have lost another powerful voice of reason. At least he won’t have to deal with his sister in-law any longer.

RIP Alan. About 5 years ago I worked way up in another state and had a ton of time on my hands outside of work hours. So I would do computer projects and listen to his streaming Fox Radio show. He was always a provacative guy. I didn’t agree with him, but I liked his personality and his ability to hold a very intelligent discussion. At some point I was hoping to maybe hear some more some day. Sorry to hear this good man is gone.

    • Heebeejeebee February 23rd, 2017 at 10:37

      Really????
I don’t agree with either of their views either but always enjoy the vigorous debate.

Very saddened to hear this, like many here, was looking forward to his return.
In addition to a long career and surviving the slings and arrows at Fox, he built this wonderful site, and created a family here. So many of you are like friends, and I hope the site will go on, a testament to his desire to inform, question, and encourage people to read, listen, and think.

Class Clown perhaps……..Not a big fan of his Liberal views…. i am still gonna miss his jaded views. He stood for what he believed in and wasn’t afraid to speak his mind. I always respect that in a person. Peace to you Alan.
