    “What’s to-day, my fine fellow?”

    • Larry Schmitt December 25th, 2016 at 14:54

      Today? Why, it’s Christmas!

      • amersham1046 December 26th, 2016 at 05:55

because Guy Fawkes has already taken Nov 4

        • Larry Schmitt December 26th, 2016 at 09:17

Sorry, I thought you were doing the “Christmas Carol” scene on the morning after the three ghosts finished. And Guy Fawkes is Nov 5.
“Remember, remember, the 5th of November,
          Gunpowder, treason and plot.
Though I know of no reason
          Why gunpowder treason
          Should ever be forgot.”

Trump claims climate change is a hoax–
Christmas it was warmer at the north pole than most of the Midwest

    • bpollen December 26th, 2016 at 07:32

But how could ND get more than 12 inches of snow if there’s global warming? 😉

      • amersham1046 December 26th, 2016 at 08:14

ND is not part of the real world

        • bpollen December 26th, 2016 at 13:56

          Curses!

          Foiled by a loophole!

      Thank you for the flashback~!

  11. Clementine December 28th, 2016 at 16:50

It’s almost the New Year. I’m dreading it. My only resolution is to remain in the ranks of NOT MY PRESIDENT, and never normalize this freak or his agenda. He is not normal, this is not normal, and I want to do my part to make sure that Trump’s ideas and visions are not easily passed. All these weeks later, and I’m still horrified that he is it. Feels like a kick in the gut every time I think about it.
PS: I’ve missed coming here, enjoying catching up on all the old comments. Hope all had good holidays, Hanukkah, Christmas, Festivus, whichever is your bent.

    • oldfart December 29th, 2016 at 00:34

      Welcome back, buckle up. ;)

      • Clementine December 29th, 2016 at 06:27

    • oldfart December 29th, 2016 at 00:28

      Totally freakin awesome !

    • Budda December 29th, 2016 at 07:34

      Very cool!

    • Clementine December 29th, 2016 at 08:04

Such talent is awe inspiring. I think some (most?) people are just born with it, innate rather than learned. At least I hope so. 4 years of piano lessons and nothing stuck with me, all the practice in the world didn’t help to get much beyond technically playing a song. Others pick up an instrument and just know how it should sound, and that’s freakin’ incredible. :-) A round of Heart and Soul anyone? I’ll play the high end.

      • Hirightnow December 29th, 2016 at 08:26

I agree; been strumming a guitar for 40 years, but there’s just something “missing” from me that this guy has.
        Maybe I’m just lazy.

        • Clementine December 29th, 2016 at 11:03

I’d say 40 years of keeping at it says otherwise. :-)

          • Hirightnow December 30th, 2016 at 17:16

            You’ve never heard me play…
            ;P

            • Clementine January 2nd, 2017 at 11:18

I meant you’re not lazy! LOL I make no comment on your playing, only to say we are generally more harsh critics of ourselves than others would be. I’m tone deaf, would probably think you were the 2nd coming of BB King. :-P

    • Larry Schmitt December 29th, 2016 at 13:05

      Always loved that song.

    • Clementine December 30th, 2016 at 07:43

To you, too! 2016 so close to winding down now, it went terribly fast. Terribly. And fast. Maybe someone could post some puppy videos or something, who doesn’t love a puppy video? No one. :-)

    The
first CIA interrogator of Saddam Hussein John Nixon, author of the new book,
“Debriefing the President: The Interrogation of Saddam Hussein.” Is an amazing
interviewed on Democracy Now, and you can’t find any other news organization talking or mentioning
Johns book, it just amazes me what we (they) consider news. I appreciate being able to
present topics, on sites such as this, that would otherwise not see the light of day on our BS news channels.
    Thanks Alan

That is what they call a redneck luge ride…:)

      • dewired4u December 31st, 2016 at 22:30

when we were kids we lived near steep grass covered hills so after the grass died and was really slick we would take big coagulated boxes to the top and get in a ride them down, no steering and no brakes….what could go wrong……

Wishing everyone here all the best for the New Year, as daunting as it clearly is.
We can all hope for miracles, cosmic shifts so the good guys finally win, a Festivus Miracle, Divine Intervention from FSM, or whatever…just let it happen.

  19. Gina Bousquet December 31st, 2016 at 14:16

Wishing all friends from Alan. com the best possible year, luck, love, health, prosperity and…resilience, courage, and excellent humor. Happy New Year!!!

I mean, :Happy New year” to you and all you hold dear.

      • Gina Bousquet January 1st, 2017 at 01:23

I wonder how a widowed professor who raised her two boys and has been caregiving for both disabled parents for years can be called a wh*re. Is this your idea of a joke?

        • Hirightnow January 1st, 2017 at 09:56

          It was drunk me’s ideal.
Sober me apologizes, and wishes he hadn’t posted something that is kind of an in joke amongst the people I know.(has to do with shouting an insult, then stopping short and doing a 180…bad form on my part, Gina.)

          • Gina Bousquet January 1st, 2017 at 10:30

            Apologies accepted Hirightnow. It’s understandable.

            • oldfart January 1st, 2017 at 10:45

Suffice to say his apology appears to be as large
              as is his hangover ;)

Tenha um dia maravilhoso, Gina !

              • Gina Bousquet January 1st, 2017 at 10:55

So it seems. Um dia maravilhoso pra você também, meu bom amigo! :)

          • bpollen January 1st, 2017 at 17:16

I’ve said stupid and insensitive things when drunk. I’ve done it when cold sober, but not nearly as often.

      • oldfart January 1st, 2017 at 09:50

        Dude, WTF ?

    • Hirightnow December 31st, 2016 at 23:26

(You know I was joshing, yes?)

      • Gina Bousquet January 1st, 2017 at 01:26

Actually I think you’re not. Because you are not the first one here to hint that out of the blue. Would you be trying to bully me out of here, I wonder… Absolutely on false premises.

    • Larry Schmitt December 31st, 2016 at 23:56

      Same to you, Gina.

      • Gina Bousquet December 31st, 2016 at 23:58

        Thank you Larry!

    • Clementine January 2nd, 2017 at 11:11

The same back to you, Gina. :-)

      • Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 11:18

        Thank you Clementine! :)

        • Clementine January 2nd, 2017 at 11:20

Oh, you are here! I’m not used to seeing someone in real time. I remember your loss of earlier this year, wishing you a better 2017.

          • Gina Bousquet January 2nd, 2017 at 11:31

That’s very sweet of you Clementine. It was a year of tremendous losses that came with dad’s passing away. I really hope 2017 will be better. Our hearts cannot take much more. :)
