Lindsey Graham Has Officially Lost His Mind

Once again, Mr. Deference to Republicans with a side of hardline questions to Democrats, David Gregory, has engineered another episode of Meet The Press that could double as a commercial for the RNC.  After an interview with Secretary of State Kerry, where facts were given regarding Gaza, MH 17 and the Border Crisis, a smirking Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared on the screen.

The most lopsided interview to date

I recorded it and the transcript below is directly from the interview. In regards to Kerry’s comments, Graham said:

“That was the most delusional summary that I can imagine.  It scares me that he (Secretary Kerry) believes that the world is in such good shape.  America is the glue that holds the free world together.  Leading from behind is not working, the world is adrift, and President Obama has become the King of Indecision. His policies are failing across the globe and it will come here soon.”

Gregory asked what Kerry left out, saying, “What is the administration not yet prepared to do that you think must be done?” (Since Graham deserves the final say on the matter, as his foreign policy ideas have been the model of peace and prosperity for the U.S.)

“What he didn’t call Putin the THUG that he is.  He didn’t call for the arming of the Ukraine so they can defend themselves against local separatists supported by Russia.  All the enemies of our nation are being well supplied, Russia and Iran are helping Syria, a 160,000 have been slaughtered, John Kerry, by Russian-supplied weapons to Assad. Syria has become a safe-haven for terrorists to attack our nation.” (from Syria?) He then commented on how the Europeans weren’t going to lead on the issue of laying heavy sanctions on Putin and we can’t keep “leading from behind. There’s a battle of wills between the KGB colonel and the “Community Organizer” (aka black guy) and the colonel is winning. “

Next Graham went into harsh criticism mode on the “deliberative” nature of the president.

He said, “it comes off as indecisive, he’s trying to be thoughtful, it comes off as weakness.”  He then supported aggressive US-European sanctions on Russia, especially in the banking sector and he finished up his rant on how we should rebuild the missile defense systems “that Obama took down.”

The final comment was regarding the border crisis. Gregory asked if his party was prepared to move with the President on this. He predictably said, “there will be NO MONEY….we have to streamline and quicken deportations, there will be no immigration reform because of the crisis on the border, I blame Obama for this moment.”(my bold)

He then stated the 2015 “Republican Congress” with the House leading (of course) will need to solve this immigration crisis or they won’t win the White House in 2016. However, they are not prepared in any way to cooperate with anyone to change anything.

I jokingly predicted this earlier this week on Twitter:

The South Carolinian best bud of Senator McCain, in a very short time, blamed Obama for the border crisis, the crisis in Palestine and the Ukrainian mess.  Naturally, David Gregory had absolutely no challenges to any of those assertions and, in fact, followed up the interview with a largely Republican panel who parrotted Graham’s delusional ravings.

July 20, 2014: In response to David Gregory’s question “What is the administration not yet prepared to do that you think must be done?” Lindsey Graham says: What he didn’t call Putin the THUG that he is.

March 2, 2014: In response to Candy Crowley’s question “What more do you want from President Obama at this point?” Lindsey Graham says: Well number one, stop going on television and trying to threaten thugs and dictators.

It’s why they won’t recall him saying that.
It’s why Rush can say he NEVER EVER called for Mr. Obama’s impeachment.
It is. in fact, why there was no president named Bush! (History starts at 2009, but we’re talking about the modern world here, not the ancient past!)

Evidently, they too learned a great deal in politics by watching Romney’s FAILED challenge in 2012?

Gave up on what is now a right wing propaganda show quite some time ago. I remember when it was a must to watch and then along came Gregory, end of story I have better things to do when that show is on.

They’re not and never have been a right wing propaganda show. What you’re seeing, is they have finally came to the conclusion that Obama is not a good president.

Graham’s comments confirm to me that he knows he, McCain, and the other RWers who were praising Putin for his “leadership” a few months ago know that they have royally f*cked up. It’s the only reason they’re now piling on President Obama and blaming him for everything. They’re trying to distract us from remembering that they were some of Putin’s biggest cheerleaders recently. They weren’t calling him a thug then, they were saying he was a “better” leader than our own president. I’m SMDH at their lies and hypocrisy, and at the fact that our MSM continues to let him and his buddy McCain be wrong on every issue and then give them a huge media platform to use to rewrite their history. Anyone who has been following Putin’s actions knows he’s always been a thug, and the fact that they didn’t think so a few months ago but claim they do now disgusts me.

The problem with Lindsey Graham is that he rambles on about how the Obama administration is doing everything wrong and it is impossible to make a cohesive strategic plan out of what he says. The problem with David Gregory is that he allows the Republicans to say such ridiculous charges go completely unchallenged.

    • crc3 July 21st, 2014 at 09:58

Gregory is very weak. I lost any respect for him when he allowed Michelle Bachmann take over MTP one Sunday allowing her say the most ridiculous things I have ever heard from a politician (Obamacare death panels was the biggest). Gregory is a Repulsive pawn….

The reality in Syria is that when we could have provided weapons to even the playing field and training of the Syrian Opposition well before ISIS, we didn’t. That was when we were shocked that the Assad regime had massacred around 30,000 people. Most of the killing was using tanks and guns. Then of course there was the red line crossed with the chemical weapon attack that killed more than 1400 ppl (some say 1600). We could have still made a difference arming the opposition and provided support. Never once has the Syrian opposition asked for “boots on the ground” or wanted that to happen.

Now there are more than 160,000 dead, chemical weapons still being used and not just Chlorine Gas as of Kobane. Bombs are being dropped multiple times per day, Children are being targeted. Even while Assad was accepting his “Acceptance Speech for his Election” which ended up with more votes than Syrians in country eligible to vote, he was bombing Syrians..

ISIS used Chemical Weapons in Kobane. Now don’t go thinking that wasn’t connected to Assad. ISIS & ASSAD are definitely bedfellows. In fact, they are part of a huge

TERRORIST NETWORK = HEZBOLLAH + ASSAD + ISIS + IRAN (financier).

The US and Europeans must help Syria and Iraq get rid of ISIS. Here is why. They are spreading like a cancer. They are the Extreme of the Extremist. They are training Americans and Europeans who are volunteering to fight with them who are going on record that they will come back to the US and Europe as sleeper cells. These are US, British, Dutch, Danish, German, Chez, etc.

Once this is accomplished, the playing field will be evened to deal with Assad as long as the US and Europe put a harness on Iran and their game. Iran has a lot to lose in other areas

The U.S. and Saudi Arabia have supplied Syrian rebel groups with a small number of advanced American antitank missiles for the first time in a pilot program that could lead to larger flows of sophisticated weaponry, people briefed on the effort said.

The new willingness to arm these rebels comes after the failure of U.S.-backed peace talks in January and recent regime gains on the battlefield. It also follows a reorganization of Western-backed fighters aimed at creating a more effective military force and increasing protection for Christian and other religious minorities—something of particular importance to Washington.

I have told you Lindsey Graham and his friends in GOP are primitive and childish. The crisis in Syria – this is due to religious differences-each side is holding its belief; Israel and Palestine -this fight has been going on for years -president after president have tried
to solve without success; Iraq -this should be blamed on Bush II and Cheney – why did we go there the 2nd time! Downing the Malaysian plane -I am sorry people died -but pilots were told not to fly over that area; the border issue – I thought Lindsey Graham and GOP had morals as a born-again Christians. So he and GOP are fake as lovers of Jesus. These kids are running away from tyrants and killers. FoxNews Bill O’rielly had the same decision-ship these kids back to tyrants. Bill O almost lost his job at FoxNews. What if these kids were Irish-as Sean Hannity parents who fled Ireland? We did not tell Hannity
father –go back. So Lindsey Graham and GOP should be racist and bigots to tell
these Latino kids to go back where they will be sold as slaves. I have told you
GOP, TPs and right winger have primitive mind faking as conservatives. Please don’t vote for them in November.

    • smooth edward July 20th, 2014 at 23:05

Yeah, and if we had armed the Syrian rebels, the weapons would have likely fallen into the wrong hands, and these same people would be blaming Obama for that, too. These carpers, are just a bunch of annoying little gnats, that take any opportunity to get their faces on television. The President just needs to do his job in the careful, deliberate way he is doing it. Flooding the Ukraine with weapons would be a provocation right on Putin’s doorstep. We wouldn’t put up with it here either. It would just make matters worse and poison relations between two nuclear powers. These pipsqueaks will play politics with anything. Neither Graham or McCain have a shred of statesman ship in them. They are children.

Cruz (the light skin Cuban Latino Senator from Texas born in Canada to parents who were instrumental in Fidel Castro winning the Revolution) says America should STOP being the beacon of light and hope for the oppressed yearning to breathe free; that it’s all Obama’s fault that people have faith in the American Dream when there’s no WHITE Republican Racist in the White House. Shame on Obama for keeping the Dream Alive! – Cruz should know. He’s from Canada!

      • pmbalele July 21st, 2014 at 00:29

You’re right. Ted Cruz should be careful. Racists in Texas don’t know yet he is not quite White. Once they know he is half Latino, GOP will dump him next election. This also applies to Marco Rubio. Rubio has alienated Latino and Black electorates. Like Allen West, he will find himself jobless next election. People should know GOP is a rich White-males’ org. Racial minorities and women are treated as token.
