Push Is On To Impeach Obama

Conservatives are more forcefully than ever talking about bringing impeachment proceedings against President Obama. Forget about how this will affect the perception of a party and a Congress bereft of ideas. Forget about how this will be perceived, given that President Obama, committing no high crimes or misdemeanors, is our first black president. They hate his guts. They have Obama Derangement Syndrome.

It’s fueled by conservative anger over the president’s increasing use of executive actions on issues such as immigration and air pollution regulations, the exchange of Taliban detainees for the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdhal, and the familiar issue of the Affordable Care Act.

“I submit that Barack Hussein Obama’s unilateral negotiations with terrorists and the ensuing release of their key leadership without consult – mandated by law – with the U.S. Congress represents high crimes and misdemeanors, an impeachable offense,” former Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., wrote on his website in June.

Yeah, make sure you get his middle name in there to remind everyone that he’s got the same name as Saddam Hussein. Must be just as bad, too.

South Dakota’s Republican Party passed a resolution at its June convention calling for Obama’s impeachment for violating “his oath of office in numerous ways.”

“We wanted to have a shot across the bow to the president and Congress that nobody is above the law,” said Dr. Allen Unruh, the delegate who sponsored the resolution. “Our goal is to embolden Congress.”

Unruh said he has a “thick book on impeachable offenses of the president.” So does Andrew McCarthy, who’s been making the conservative media rounds with his recently released book “Faithless Execution: Building the Case for Obama’s Impeachment,” which offers a sort of template for removing Obama from office.

I urge the Republicans to keep doing this. Don’t come up with a better health plan. Keep pretending that it’s President Obama who screwed up Iraq. Continue pouding the impeachment drum. Then look at who the president is after 2016.

Here’s the thing (and the Talking Heads and Politicians know all about this, obviously they aren’t saying it ,lest their Clueless Minions quit sending those Donations), nothing could be worse for them than an Impeachment (and Conviction). Should The House Impeach, and The Senate Convict (we know they won’t, but let’s say that they did). We would then have a much more Liberal President Biden. Joe needs a Veep, and who better than a former Sec of State? What is better for running for President than being a Former Sec of State AND former Vice President ? Somewhere along the line, either Joe or Hillary pardons Obama (as in Ford and Nixon). THAT is why they will only TALK Impeachment, but never follow through.

Agreed. Today’s GOP has reached a whole new, unprecedented, level of CRAY-CRAY. At this point, it’s just laughable. I agree, keep it coming! The only one’s they’re harming is themselves. PATHETIC.

If they take steps to impeach him, won’t that slow down their project to turn us into a catholic country?

Has anyone from the right decided exactly what it is Obama should be impeached for?

    • BanditBasheert July 7th, 2014 at 19:59

      Anything and everything.
      But mostly for being black.

What I find most amusing about this is Obama has committed an impeachable offense, he failed to prosecute the Bush Administration for it’s war crimes. The Republicans have grounds, but they have to find something else, anything else. The last thing they want is a long discussing about Republican support for the torture of prisoners in a war crimes trial.

yeah impeachment. Can’t have a democratic president without impeaching him. It would set a bad precedent.

To qoute the late Clara Peller:
    “Where’s The Beef?”
Could it be in the crainal cavities of those infected with Impeachment Fever?

Frankly, if the 2014 Midterms turns the Senate over to the GOP, you can expect the “Impeachment Fever” to get even hotter.

http://www.constitution.org/cmt/high_crimes.htm and The charge of high crimes and misdemeanors covers allegations of misconduct peculiar to officials, such as perjury of oath, abuse of authority, bribery, intimidation, misuse of assets, failure to supervise, dereliction of duty, conduct unbecoming, and refusal to obey a lawful order. Offenses by officials also include ordinary crimes, but perhaps with different standards of proof and punishment than for nonofficials, on the grounds that more is expected of officials by their oaths of office. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_crimes_and_misdemeanours#United_States

Republicans want to impeach democrat Presidents. They can’t stand it that a Democrat was elected twice again as our President. They will look for anything to accomplish this but they have a losing game. It just won’t happen they have no real grounds.
