Armed Militia Group To Confront African-American Democrats At Polling Places In Wisconsin

Posted by | September 20, 2014 19:35 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

A self-described armed militia group in Wisconsin plans to target African American Democrats and responded to the controversy in the typical way: You’re a racist if you call out racism.  “We prefer our people be armed,” Wisconsin Poll Watcher Militia’s Facebook page reads. “Some will be heading to some of Milwaukee, Racine, and Beloit’s worst areas. We will be armed with a list of people to look for at each location.”

The dialogue was tagged on Twitter, then posted on PoliticusUSA.

A photo in the group’s Facebook page shows exactly the type of areas they will be targeting.

Patrick Murray specifically says his group won’t be targeting Republicans. Only Democrats.

The group responded on Facebook saying, “We can assure you that we will be targeting all democrats, not just black ones. If you think we meant blacks only it is because you are a racist who thinks the only people with warrants are black. We know better because we have a nice list of people who are wanted democrat activist types. Most are actually white. We will target everyone.”

In the same breath that he said he’ll target “everyone” he said only Democrats.

PoliticusUSA reports:

The fact that they are targeting a specific group of individuals based on race and perceived political affiliation means that their operation is a violation of the Voting Rights Act. According to the Justice Department, “The administration of elections is chiefly a function of state government. However, federal authorities may become involved where there are possible violations of federal law. In cases where intimidation, coercion, or threats are made or attempts to intimidate, threaten or coerce are made to any person for voting or attempting to vote, the Department of Justice can consider whether there is federal jurisdiction to bring civil claims or criminal charges under federal law. Depending on the nature of the allegations, they may fall into the jurisdiction of different parts of the Department. If you have information about allegations of intimidation, please contact us.”

These are Scott Walker’s supporters. How terribly embarrassing.

Contact the Department of Justice here. Because someone has to be watching this armed militia while they intimidate voters. November 4th is right around the corner. Don’t be intimidated.

Not Jim Crow, though. Just simple, good old ‘murican poll watching in urban areas with high concentrations of “them”.

From a letter to the Florida Today (Brevard County) two days ago, apparently in all seriousness:

Suggestion for making voters more enlightened

            The Voting
Rights Act is a well-intended law. Under it, however, one must be only 18, be a U.S. citizen and be able to breathe in and out every 17 seconds in order to vote.

As other recent letters have stated, we have anelectorate comprised of too many uninformed voters. Many of them are
clueless when it comes to the issues.

Voting is too important a matter to be left to the uninformed and apathetic. The Voting Rights Actshould be amended to require a person to pass a written test demonstrating a basic knowledge of our history, our system of government
and an understanding of at least some of the issues we face before being allowed to register to vote. At a minimum, everyone should be ableto pass a test similar to the one legal immigrants must pass to attain U.S. citizenship.

A more enlightened electorate would result in better qualified, more responsive and more competent people being elected to public office.

Personally, I think they need to require every citizen over the age of 18 to vote – have polling over the weekend and open Saturday and Sunday for voters who were registered too late for a mail in ballot and have mail in for everyone else…but then I think we need to have real people worthy of the position as candidates, federally funded campaigns only, allowing no commercials, robocalls or mailers and only 6 debates held within 6 weeks of the election. Silly me, I actually think there is a chance for real people as servants of the people instead of over 300 Wall St shills in Congress and two corporate whores sitting in the WH like we have had for 2 centuries

I am all good with that, isn’t it very similar to what they do in Australia? If you could somehow work in taxing the churches and the NFL, that would be great.

How about you going to a voting place and point out to these people that you now what they did., and then give them a chance to repent before turning them in. I mean after all, you being aware of the kind of people attending, it would be your public responsibility to do as you said should be done. Perhaps you could prophesy over me? Oh wait. How absurd. That is, unless I’m unaware that you are a great prophet of some kind. You can tell exactly what people have done and what laws they have Broken. WOW! How about you going to a voting place and point out to these people that you now what they did., and then give them a chance to repent before turning them in. I mean after all, you being aware of the kind of people attending, it would be your public responsibility to do as you said should be done. Perhaps you could prophesy over me? Oh wait. Your a Democrat. I know exactly what it would be.
