Conservatives Totally Lose Their Sh*t After Falling For Satirical/Fake News Site’s Post On Obama

Tea Party hero Victoria Jackson linked to a satirical/fake news site then presented it as a fact. Jackson wrote about our evil Muslim President celebrating the Fourth of July at “a mosque” and she further added that he will “host Muslim leaders at the White House” on Independence Day.

Jackson declared, “Obama continues to slap America in the face and spit on her. I am outraged. If you’re not, you are uninformed.”

Victoria Jackson totally not drunk (image: The Blaze)

The National Report’s satirical post is inundated with outraged Conservatives in the comments who demand  the Usurper be tossed out of America, dammit.

Ruh roh, here comes the Punisher and he’s going all Republican caps on us:

This is how Obama conspiracy theories start. Watch how rapidly this circulates.

BENGHAZI!

Then this guy happened along and ruined everything.

Victoria will likely never admit she was wrong about this. It’s so easy to spread disinformation. The correction usually goes unnoticed. It’s pathetically funny.

Didn’t she used to be funny?

No, she’s always been an idiot.

She used to be paid to be funny, but she failed at that.

      So now she trolls.

Even if President Obama HAD visited a Mosque on July 4th, how would that be a “slap in the face” at America?

Are there no American Muslims? Did our country adopt Christianity as an Official Religion when I wasn’t looking or something?

Here are some other headline articles from Mr. James

Secret McConnell Recording: Tea Party Lost Primaries Because It “hasn’t learned to conceal its racism”

Liberal Thinking Linked to Deadly Fecal Parasite

When I come across a report on the internet which raises my passions pro or con, the very first thing I do is cross-reference the credibility of the source. In this case, the byline says ‘posted by Diego James’ who has a history of planting his tongue firmly in cheek.

But the serious point here is that even if the story was 100% true, there is nothing to object to unless you are an ignorant right wing A$$hole. and as Forest Gump would say, that’s all there is to say about that.

Falling for satire doesn’t prove lack of intelligence.
Now, I don’t know how dumb someone has to be as to when wearing glasses doesn’t help with the appearance of intellect but Ms. Jackson has successfully squashed that impression.
You go girl, rock the derp

    • Tom Birmingham July 6th, 2014 at 14:14

I AGREE, it’s becoming kind of upsetting how difficult it is to seperate satire from reality. For example, I hear OBH visits a mosque on the 4th, I think satire. When I hear teabaggers think satire is real, i must pause and question if it is satire or not. Sadly, 9/10 it’s not.

      • Jack Baynes July 6th, 2014 at 22:00

Actually, I hear Obama visits a mosque on the 4th, I don’t immediately think satire. Any more than I’d think Satire if I heard the Obama ate at Waffle House. It certainly could happen, and nothing outrageous about it.

“Falling for satire doesn’t prove lack of intelligence.”
Yeah, I think it kind of does. At the very least it proves that you’re entirely willing to believe something — and to preach it to the world — without doing even the SLIGHTEST bit of fact-checking, source-vetting, or even just cross-reference. That level of lazy gullibility, I would argue, requires a clear lack of capacity for coherent, rational thought.

The internet has many intelligence tests, and Jackson and her fans failed this one. It’s useful for their competitors to know this about them – so Ms. Jackson – please proceed lol!

So would him spending the day at a mosque or inviting Muslim leaders be any worse than him spending the day at a church and inviting Christian leaders?
Somehow I doubt they’d complain if he did that.

    • fifthdentist July 6th, 2014 at 15:42

Oh they’d complain all right. Then it would just be a front for his nefarious plot to turn us all into gay/Communist/Nazi/Muslim/atheists.

another recent example of low-information right wingers in all their glory

    http://teapartyorg.ning.com/forum/topics/obama-in-his-own-words-ordinary-men-and-women-are-too-small

OBAMA IN HIS OWN WORDS: “Ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs…

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/jun/23/chain-email/video-barack-obama-speech-circulating-internet-was/

The chain email claims that Obama said that “ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs” and that individuals should “surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign.” Those are two separate thoughts from an actual speech, spliced together through video editing in a way that twists Obama’s argument beyond recognition. We rate it Pants on Fire.

    • Buddy McCue July 6th, 2014 at 13:48

      Thanks for the link.

I enjoyed the Politifact video, and the president’s speech contained within it. I notice that Politifact surmises that the video editor spliced together the misleading composite in jest. I wonder who was the first to believe that it was real, and not satire?

      • AKRNC July 6th, 2014 at 15:51

There were many RWNJ’s promoting it as real. That tells you just how stupid they really are and the idiocy they believe if it smears the President in any way. When it comes to President Obama, if a statement is negative, they are more than ready to believe it’s true. It shows what small-minded whackjobs they really are.

        • Buddy McCue July 6th, 2014 at 18:07

Yes, and it shows the power of suggestion I suppose.

People are more likely to believe something if they really WANT it to be true.

In other news, Obama was caught singing the LMFAO song “Sexy and I know it.”

      • ChrisVosburg July 6th, 2014 at 15:45

Internet Jukebox down the pub just got updated to include a Music Video feature– for an extra credit, you can see the video associated with the song on a flatscreen above the bar.

Last night, we all got up, and got down, with Sexy and I Know It, and we all did the dick wagging dance along with the boys in the band, while laughing ourselves silly. Whew, lotta WORK!
