Busted: Open Carry Activist Poses As Random ‘Target Customer’ In Front Of News Camera At A Moms Group Protest

Posted by | July 1, 2014 20:23 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

The same gun humper who has been posting images of himself Open Carrying in the Richmond, Virginia, area Target stores just happened to be at a Moms Demand Action event over the weekend. Oh sure, there are coincidences in life, but the Open Carry groups are notorious for following the gun safety group around, even to the point of staking them out while they eat lunch in a restaurant.

David Taylor is seen posing as a random customer at Target, then just happens to give his views on gun rights while a news camera is rolling. Of course, he did so without mentioning that he’s part of the Open Carry groups which the Moms group is protesting.

He’s seen posing as a random Target customer and also just happens, by pure coincidence I’m sure, to be interviewed by WRIC. You see how he’s wearing his concerned face?

Strictly by coinky dink, he looks strikingly familiar to this man who has been protesting with long rifles at their stores.

This “random” customer is also this guy, who just happens (wink wink) to be supporting Target for their support of protests inside and outside of their establishments’ premises.

It’s certainly not illegal to be duplicitous. Taylor is not a random customer weighing in on the topic of walking around with long arms strapped to their backs, which most find extremely intimidating.

Watch him just happen to be at the same place and the same time as the Moms group — with cameras rolling, They’re ready for your closeup, Mr. Taylor:

WRIC Richmond News and Weather –

As reported here, a San Antonio based Target store told protesters, including a mother whose daughter was killed in the Colorado theater shooting, to leave because they were a ‘distraction.’ Still, gun fetishists are welcomed into their stores.

I would never want to infringe on David Taylor’s right to be duplicitous but for every action, there’s a reaction. Enjoy your moment, because you were just busted for lying by omission.

Target is so #OffTarget.

If you’re so fearful that you’re going to be attacked while shopping at Target then stay in the safety of your own home and shop online.

    • BanditBasheert July 2nd, 2014 at 22:51

Actually I think I will just take my money elsewhere As will a whole bunch of other people especially families who take their kids shopping.

Is there some rule that you have to be a complete fat slob to be a member of the Open Carry groups , or is that just another reason for their overcompensation ?

    • BanditBasheert July 2nd, 2014 at 22:50

He doesn’t know if he has a penis or not, he hasn’t seen it for years.

Is it just me, or did Alan.com suddenly become much more….erm…”pithy”?
The quips are coming fast and furious…without any of that bothersome profundity that typically used to bog down the site! It’s like our mundane ole prog rock station got re-formatted to an AM sock hop…with a 24 hr morning zoo!
Did we merge with Rachel Maddow’s fansite or perhaps the Jon Stewart Show or some such thing?
Why am I always the last to know these things??
    ;-(

    • yeah way July 3rd, 2014 at 01:05

Firearms enthusiasts, hunters, range marksmen and my fellow collectors of historically significant milsurp, are now described as having “small penis syndrome”?
      On Liberaland?? Really??

Lol, well, when my penis can drop a moose at 300 meters, maybe I’ll consider your analogy…

      • Carla Akins July 3rd, 2014 at 05:23

The small penis monicker is reserved fro those that feel compelled to “educate” us by open carrying into public places like city parks, little league fields and Target. We can only assume they are compensating for something, since it is absolutely unnecessary and makes them look ridiculous. They are successful in scaring the hell out of small children.

    • ryan July 3rd, 2014 at 03:31

The answer is that they merged with a site called freakoutnation. I like freakoutnation and I like Alan, but I don’t think I like both. I liked the profundity of Alan and I liked liked the snark of Freak Out, but together…it’s like mixing gun powder and lemonade.

      • Alan July 3rd, 2014 at 08:11

I appreciate that you like me AND FON, but, together, we have the best of both worlds. Anomaly and her snarky friends help lighten the atmosphere, and Anomaly’s posts bring a dimension to the site that gives it more depth.

The bunch of new moderators will take a bit of getting used to. I’m sure we will figure out what their rules are at some point – but right now it can be kind of confusing when many of the actual site posts can be filled with obscenities & insults, but we can get chided for moderately polite arguments in our posts. I always appreciated the fairly clear, but liberal lines you and Epi drew in the sand, and the classy level of the site posts.

I’m sure over time it will all make sense – but I have to confess to missing the old Alan.com. I’m sure I will come to love the new unholy monster the site has become, however ;)

          • Alan July 4th, 2014 at 13:24

it is the same alan.com, with more users and, thus, new views and attitudes.

We can do profundity. We can be profound to beat the band!

          [Oh wait, no we can’t]

Anomaly did no fact-checking on me, Alan. That certainty takes the site to new depths.

          • arc99 July 27th, 2014 at 08:23

given the unexplored depths one will find on right wing sites, particularly the Adidas soccer jersey as a Muslim prayer rug, this site is a beacon of accuracy.

Responsible journalism is not measured by “We are bad, but not as bad as them.”

A lot of pro-gun people are upset with these a**hats who are open carrying long guns.
Its the wrong approach and there is no good excuse to open carry a long gun safely.
By the time you get it unslung, a mag loaded and a round chambered, you’re dead.

Many are split on open carry for various reasons: No need to make people who are already nervous even more so. It makes you a target for those with bad intentions and they know who to take out first.

Now, I read the thread and just stunned that a group of open minded people who call themselves open minded feel that it is OK to make fun of, make light of and attack someone citing their weight.

Really? I don’t know what issues he may have. Maybe he does eat too much and exercise too little but is that reason to make fun of someone? Seems pretty prejudiced and bigoted towards obese people.

What next? Making fun of cross-eyed people and those with physical deformities?
Simply childish and those of you doing it should be ashamed of yourselves.

When asked by the news crew why I was there, I told them it was “to watch the show” MDA was putting on. I never said I was a customer, but TV8 news did correctly call me a customer. After I saw that their protest was a bunch of nothing, I joined my wife inside who was shopping. By the time we left, all the hullabaloo outside was over with, everyone was gone. Was I armed? Of course.
