Team Trump ignores national security during dinner with Japan

Posted by | February 13, 2017 09:07 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

You just can’t help but “facepalm” over this level of ineptitude. Saturday night at Mar-a-Lago, where Donald Trump was playing host to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe,

with whom he’d spent most of the day golfing, Trump took the call on a mobile phone at his table, which was set squarely in the middle of the private club’s dining area. As Mar-a-Lago’s wealthy members looked on from their tables, and with a keyboard player crooning in the background, Trump and Abe’s evening meal quickly morphed into a strategy session, the decision-making on full view to fellow diners, who described it in detail to CNN.

Trump’s National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and chief strategist Steve Bannon left their seats to huddle closer to Trump as documents were produced and phone calls were placed to officials in Washington and Tokyo. The patio was lit only with candles and moonlight, so aides used the camera lights on their phones to help the stone-faced Trump and Abe read through the documents…. Waiters cleared the wedge salads and brought along the main course as Trump and Abe continued consulting with aides.

As a point of fact, I know high-school kids who can hack phones. Remotely. In my own not-so-humble opinion, this, and not Hillary Clinton’s email “scandals’, is a threat to national security. And it seems others agree with me:

All of this comes as little surprise, given Trump’s comprehensive failures on national security three weeks into his misadministration.

Translation of Donnie’s line of inquiry to Abe:
“So where can I get my hands on a bunch of those Geisha chicks?”

Lock em all up for inexcusable behavior, risking the release of classified data, and being terminally stupid.

    • Phoebequeen February 13th, 2017 at 09:53

      I know. Holy crap.

    • Greta42 February 13th, 2017 at 10:16

Lock em up and start impeachment procedure.

I can’t wait to see the SNL skit on this one.

This, also too, an article about top spies for US not wanting to give classified data to tRump, and another article about the FBI ignoring the Flynn-Russia phone call:

    • Mike February 13th, 2017 at 13:59

Interesting that article was published by the Observer …. Trump’s own son-in-law’s paper.

And Trump wants to know where H9i leak is ?

  6. Willys41 February 13th, 2017 at 11:25

Actually, there is a silver lining here. The CIA can activate all the cameras in all those phones and keep track of what the Hell our Resident-in-Chief is trying to do that might destroy the world and us with it.

hopefully he doesn’t have any of them in his pocket. i think it’s not likely since he has been throwing them under the bus. i’m of faith that there are some people working behind the scenes not letting in on an investigation into all of those bastards including comey, ryan, mitch, the whole damn gang of traitors, that will bring them all down.

    I found this interesting…

I’d dig a bomb shelter, but the water table is too damn high in this town!

He did this to show every one what a big man he is.

Here’s hoping old quotes came up before dinner was served….

  11. Bunya February 13th, 2017 at 13:25

Okay Donald, I’m sure the Japanese Prime Minister is very impressed that you have access to “secret stuff ‘n all”, now it’s time to wow him with your intelligence.

  12. StoneyCurtisll February 13th, 2017 at 13:28

    In case you missed it…
The Nazifacation of America began this weekend on the news shows…
Only Thing missing was Stephen Miller giving the nazi Salute.

    • Suzanne McFly February 13th, 2017 at 17:21

Wow, Stephen Miller is a $hit storm of crazy. I like how Joe says rumps day would of been so easy because his visit with Prime Minister Abe from Japan and Prime Minister Trudeau went so well. Well? What did I miss? Maybe it wasn’t one of his massive eff ups, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a good thing.

      • StoneyCurtisll February 13th, 2017 at 20:33

I fully expected to see Stephen Müller raise his right hand in the air at the end of his tirade…
        All hail Trumpf~!

        • Suzanne McFly February 13th, 2017 at 21:11

Sadly, it would of gone along with his entire tirade.

    • Roctuna February 13th, 2017 at 18:57

Well, they were all stunned, as they should be. I found it interesting that at one point Joe says “he’s talking like an autocrat when he doesn’t have to” as if there ever would be a time to talk like Miller did. MoJo reveals his hidden fascist.

Just imagine Stephen Müller’s, (Miller) comments with a heavy german accent…
Zee power of zee president vill not be questioned, Every zang his spokesvolk zays is 100% pure truth~!

  13. William February 13th, 2017 at 13:38

Remember when the most embarrassing thing a U S President did in front of the Japanese was throw up on the Prime Minister or forget how to use a door? Good times.

    • StoneyCurtisll February 13th, 2017 at 20:37

      I remember that…
I got to get out of here….

  14. William February 13th, 2017 at 13:49

I’m sure things will go much better with the Canadian Prime Minister. Caption. “Gee that looks like a hand eh?, only a loot smaller”.

    • StoneyCurtisll February 13th, 2017 at 20:36

      Don’t fall for it Justin…
Look what he did to Shinzo Abe~!

    • The Original Just Me February 13th, 2017 at 23:01

I’m not going to shake that hand. I don’t know where it has been.

  15. Mike February 13th, 2017 at 13:55

The Intelligence Community is in open rebellion against the Trump administration … apparently, American spies have been getting information about the White House from Russian assets…the CIA doesn’t want to brief the president because there is a direct pipeline from the WH to the Kremlin.

If you look thru the archives you can see the were ahead of the curve on a lot of issues.
