Embarrassing: Trump’s Executive Branch can’t spell

Posted by | February 13, 2017 06:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

David Ferguson at Raw Story reports on the latest gaffetastic Trump Era screwup:

Pres. Donald Trump’s official 2017 inauguration portrait features the word “to” when its homonym “too” was what was required, a typo that apparently went undetected throughout the process of creating the design.

TheHill.com reported Sunday that the portrait — issued and sold through the U.S. Library of Congress — reads, “No dream is too big, no challenge is to great. Nothing we want for the future is beyond our reach.”

“The error comes after the Department of Education misspelled author and civil rights activist W.E.B. Du Bois’s name in a tweet earlier on Sunday,” said The Hill’s Jennifer Calfas.

The Library of Congress website took down the page offering prints of the inaugural portrait for $16.95 once social media users pointed out the error. The Hill said the page went down between 9:30 and 10 p.m. on Sunday.

I’m not the best speller, however, these goobers need to do a little editing, re-reading and checking everything before it is released. They look uneducated, foolish and panic driven when these type of things appear.

most of them are standard republicans, what’d you expect?

    • Suzanne McFly February 13th, 2017 at 09:35

They feel they are the cream of our crop and none of them can be criticized for doing anything wrong. Pretty soon, they will demand we all spell the words as they do.

hell devos spelled Du Bois’ name wrong and then when they sent out an apology, they got that wrong too, by saying (paraphrasing) ‘we apologizies’ yep, the department of education got it wrong twice. get this, then i read they want to get rid of the dept of education. WTF suzanne?

        • Suzanne McFly February 13th, 2017 at 21:10

They claim us teachers are overpaid and they want their friends to open more schools for profit and no oversight. That is their endgame.

did you hear they are talking about ending the education department period?

            • Suzanne McFly February 14th, 2017 at 19:33

Yup, there will be blood in the streets before that happens.

agreed. none of them are spelling Bee participants.

Exactly. The only way he’d get any negative attention from his followers is if he institutes mandatory dental care, and makes trailer parks incest free zones.

Trump’s 4th grader spelling errors added a phony ‘e’ to half of his Trump Grill signs misspelled as ‘Trump Grile’. Is Barron Trump age 10 running his “unpresidented” admin?

    • Gina Bousquet February 13th, 2017 at 16:30

Barron is probably a better speller.

The inability to proof-read this commemorative poster before release to the public is a fitting metaphor for Donald’s brief term in office.

  6. rat618 February 13th, 2017 at 11:19

If you look at the bottom it clearly says in fine print:”This Poster Prepared By and Approved by Betty DeVos”.
