A new low in Trump cheap shots?

Posted by | January 30, 2017 16:12 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Judge for yourself:

President Trump on Monday accused Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) of shedding “fake tears” over his ban on refugees and individuals from a certain Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S.

Schumer teared up during a press conference on Sunday in New York while addressing the controversial policy. The president on Monday responded, “There’s a 5 percent chance they’re real.”

“I noticed Chuck Schumer yesterday with fake tears,” Trump said after meeting with small business leaders at the White House. “I’m going to ask him who is his acting coach.”

Schumer, standing alongside refugees, called on the Senate to vote on legislation blocking Trump’s order.

Choking back tears, Schumer called the order “mean-spirited and un-American.”

“These orders go against what America has always been about. The orders make us less humanitarian, less safe, less American,” Schumer said.

Asked via email for a reaction to Trump’s comments on Monday, Schumer spokesman Matt House wrote, “We’re not going to dignify that with a response.

Admittedly, it’s not that they don’t have a history:

Trump earlier this month called Schumer the “head clown” for defending the Affordable Care Act.

The Senate leader, in turn, has pledged to fight the new president’s agenda.

“On most areas, we’re going to have to fight him, and we’ll fight him tooth and nail,” he told NBC’s “Today” on Inauguration Day.

        Electoral College Winner.

I refuse to address him as President Trump, and ECW is the most respectful term I will ever use when referring to him.

Good call, every time I put President by his name, I have to spit to get the foul taste out of my mouth.

Impeaching a president is not a constitutional crises .

It is covered in the document.

Electing a Wildman into the white house is a constitutional crises.

Impeachment? Sounds good, but we don’t impeach for acts of treason, or war crimes, or crimes against humanity. We’ll just have to wait until the orange emperor does something outrageously heinous, like getting blown in the White House. And who among us wants to blow tRump?

Today in sampling the reader comments in various forums, I have found a rather interesting phenomenon.

I have found a number of Trump worshipers defending the policy by arguing that the countries impacted by the ban were designated in a 2011 plan by President Obama. That’s right. Their defense is that Obama did it, so we have no right to complain.

President Obama’s 2011 plan to enhance the vetting of people coming from those countries did in fact list the same countries as ECW Trump. But unlike Dear Leader Trump, President Obama’s plan was planned, and vetted. He did not just blast out an executive order. In 2011, no one was denied entry in the middle of a trip. People who were already here were subjected to additional screening. People who were not yet here had to go through a more detailed vetting process.

But my main point is that for years, some people told us that President Obama was ineffective, incompetent, unAmerican, and a terrorist sympathizer. Now, his policies are referenced as a positive example by those very same people as they attempt to defend Dear Leader.

Maybe that will be the silver lining to the cloud of Trump winning the Electoral College. It shows to the country and the world, just how good a President he was with zero support from the opposite side of the aisle.

They cannot repeal the ACA because it is helping too many people whose votes the GOP needs.

They use Mr. Obama’s vetting policy to defend their own.

As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. The actions of the GOP in the first two weeks of the Trump administration are speaking loud and clear. Those actions tell us that the GOP knows Barack H. Obama was an outstanding President. Even his most committed opponents can neither undo his signature achievement, nor avoid citing him as a justification for their own actions.

well, someone in another post indicated that POTUS OBAMA didn’t list Saudi Arabia

my response was neither did POTUS Bush.

      but, why not now?

    • granpa.usthai January 31st, 2017 at 00:57

he couldn’t steal the popular vote though. (that’s WE THE PEOPLE)

with the continuous media barrage of false information against Hillary, with the BETRAYAL of the Republic by FBI Director comey (R) and speaker of the house ryan (R)

Hillary still beat trump by 3,000,000 votes.

  8. Tommie January 30th, 2017 at 23:26

If Trump doesn’t say something stupid, then we know something is wrong!

    • fahvel January 31st, 2017 at 02:30

not stupid! he says things that are evil – their intent to reduce people and places easily superior to him so he can pretend to be bigger and better and oranger and just plain fking great in the eyes of the ahole in the mirror – You folks have a real problem and it goes beyond politics – it’s a social immorality residing in a big white house.
