Merkel slams Trump immigrant ban

Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel blasted Trump for using the War on Terror® as an excuse to selectively close the borders:

German Chancellor Angela Merkel told U.S. President Donald Trump that the global fight against terrorism was no excuse for banning refugees or people from Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, her spokesman said on Sunday.

“She is convinced that even the necessary, decisive battle against terrorism does not justify putting people of a specific background or faith under general suspicion,” spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

He said the German government regrets the entry travel ban on refugees and citizens from seven Muslim-majority states, would review the consequences for German citizens with dual nationalities and would “represent their interests, if needed, vis a vis our U.S. partners”.

He said Merkel had expressed her concerns to Trump during a telephone call on Saturday and reminded him that the Geneva Conventions require the international community to take in war refugees on humanitarian grounds.

Of course, that’s dependent on whether or not Trump understands the Geneva Conventions, let alone knoes what they are.

      I seen to remember that 9-11 attack, where 15 of 19 terrorist where from Saudi Arabia…

      like I said with the puny excuse of a wall the orange loser is determined to build in the 21st century to ward off Saudi Arabian terrorist that fly in through the various international airports, we may well become the DPRK of the western hemisphere.

      now, we’re starting to find out why China did nothing with the putin/trump alliance.

      after finding out about their attempted surprise military attack on China, they just let putin’s folks understand, they’d better speak fluent Chinese, or it’s off to the potatoe fields of DPRK for them. as for trump and his gang of thugs….I really think they’re enjoying making the ‘great loser’ give up international trade 1 and 2 countries at a time.

    Foreign governments will start to distance themselves from the US to prevent them being soiled by Trumps policies and hope to prevent any terrorist backlash
