White House hits back: 35 Russian intel ops ejected from U.S.

Posted by | December 29, 2016 14:28 | Filed under: Politics

The White House has announced sanctions against Russia for its election hacking.

Among other things, the administration is ejecting 35 Russian intelligence operatives from the country and is leveling economic sanctions against four top officers of the military intelligence unit that the White House believes directed the attacks.

According to the New York Times, the White House is also expected to “release evidence linking the cyberattacks to computer systems used by Russian intelligence” in what would amount to the strongest American response ever taken to a state-sponsored cyberattack aimed at the United States.”

And as of 2:39 pm EST, the Russians have not expelled an equal number of American diplomats! I guess they accept this sanctioning action…quietly…..humbly :)

It’s still early for a response.

They’re not worried about it, they know Putins’s little puppet, er..um..i mean…Trump will sign off on it…apologize, and invite him to stay in the Lincoln bedroom.

Nothing like humiliating the Republicans to arouse Obama’s enthusiasm for strong foreign policy.

  3. Buford2k11 December 29th, 2016 at 16:31

what? No Paul Manafort? Roger Stone? the moles? the Rooskie handlers? hmmm…

  4. Foundryman December 29th, 2016 at 16:32

It’s fun watching the republicans squirm like little worms in explaining why they think it doesn’t matter that Russia hacked, what matters is the info was “true”. True, if you want to believe Russia!!
I’m hoping they get to the bottom of why Trump has taken the position of not believing US intelligence. It’s extremely suspicious that he would make the claim the agencies are wrong. It looks exactly like he has something to hide.

Trump has reportedly finally agreed to meet with intelligence officials to find out what they know about the matter.

But why should Donald bother meeting with U.S. intelligence experts? He has already publicly declared that he knows better than any of them what’s really going on in the world.

He is certain that the DNC’s email servers (among others) were not hacked by a foreign entity … except that if they were, then it was not by his comrades in Russia. Must have been the Chinese.

Of course, even if Russians were involved, certainly his good buddy Vlad had nothing to do with it … and even if Putin was calling the shots, and even if it was a deliberate attempt to influence and undermine the U.S. election process, and even if the objective was to directly assist Trump’s quest for victory …

… who cares anymore? It’s ancient history, everyone needs to get over it and move on.

Please excuse my ignorance but why are Russian intelligence operatives in the US?

    • Budda December 31st, 2016 at 05:49

I believe it’s common knowledge that both the Russians and Americans and every other country in the world have ‘spys’ attached to their embassies.

All this talk of Russian meddling … can’t we get back to Hillary’s emails or maybe Obama’s birth certificate.

    • granpa.usthai December 30th, 2016 at 12:27

FBI made up BS now clearly shows that Obama’s ‘real’ birth certificate was at BENGHAZI just before Hillary ordered the attack to destroy it!

(how’s that sound for another round of multi million fake, phoney, made up FBI BS republican hearings?

Making a ton of money is the same as, or even better than a sexual relationship..
They both can just grab or buy as much pizzy as they wish, (or even phone it in the the Ping Pong Pizza, to go)..
      (ask for the basement special)

If only we could eject Donald trump out with the rest of the Russian trash……
    I know….
He is the president ‘select’.. and we have to deal with it…

  12. StoneyCurtisll December 30th, 2016 at 20:39

Remember not that many years ago when the GOP and right wingers were pushing for changing the constitution to allow a foreign born person to run for President..(Arnold Schwarzenegger)…..
Just think if they had been successful, we would about to inaugurate Vladimir Putin to our highest office, and Trump would be noting than the highest campaign donor..

    • Mensa Member December 30th, 2016 at 22:20

And remember how the GOP promised that Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to solve all of California’s problems?

It wasn’t until Californians kicked him and the GOP out that they turned the state around.

      • StoneyCurtisll December 30th, 2016 at 22:26

        I remember that also~!
But did ya have to remind me…;)

  13. Mensa Member December 30th, 2016 at 22:21

The Russian spies are all taking three week vacations until Trump invited them back.

  14. StoneyCurtisll December 31st, 2016 at 00:13
