Trump: ‘Let it be an arms race’

Posted by | December 23, 2016 08:33 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics War & Peace

His bravado could wind us up in nuclear war.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said: “Let it be an arms race,” when asked for clarification of his Thursday Twitter post calling for an expansion of U.S. nuclear weapon capabilities, MSNBC said on Friday.

“We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all,” Trump said in an interview with MSNBC, the network reported one day after the tweet that alarmed non-proliferation experts.

On Thursday, Trump said: “The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes.”

The Arms Race & ‘Advancement’ will lessen ‘Islamist Threat’. As an outcome, Communication Advancement will make this Arms Race a “learning emblem”. Islamist Thinkers have proved to be technically monotonous & vague in terms of Economy & Sales Process of arms & others. Islamist Reserves should never be given perfection & spread. A ‘Free Model’ must be made out of their reserves. [An account of all the Uranium must be made]

You would light your house on fire, just to kill a cockroach?

    • Larry Schmitt December 23rd, 2016 at 11:45

What the hell does that even mean? I understand the individual words, but as you put them together, they don’t make a bit of sense. You’d be a perfect fit for the trump administration.

such ‘bravery’ from the orange COWARD.

won’t be long before someone is putin-ing on his hand.

Meanwhile, in the REAL world, North Korea and China quietly continue to build an unbelievable massive Military, with REAL peoples, hardware and of course mushrooms capable of rockin’ mama earth like never before.

the hearts and minds of the MAJORITY of Americans just don’t seem to be pouring their soul into supporting an orange COWARD in his quest to rule the world by force.

to the conquer goes the offshore bank accounts?

  14. labman57 December 23rd, 2016 at 13:29

Remember, Donald believes that he knows more about military strategy than any of our military experts, and he understands foreign policy strategy better than anyone else in the nation because “he’s a smart guy” and he “watches stuff on TV”.
Clearly he has not brushed up on world history.

Trump believes that our current arsenal is not enough of a deterrent to counter a nuclear assault and that reengaging in a “nuclear arms race” will reduce the likelihood of that outcome.

Been there, done that. It was called the “Cold War”.

                    • Mister Atoz December 28th, 2016 at 21:45

Many, many years ago I bought a (1971?) Mercury Capri off a friend because I had remembered reading a review about what great cars they were. After I got home I found the review and it raved about the V6 models. It said the 4-cylinder versions were pieces of %$#@. Guess which engine my car had?

It was actually a fun little car and it was quite dependable.

One of my favorite cars was my dad’s 1968 MGB-GT. Beautifully styled. I was too young to drive it but he certainly had a blast driving it.

He owned one of the most insane cars, ever. A 1974 bright red Gremlin X with a 304 V8. My brother bought it and asked me to drive it to his house while he followed me. He told me to floor it when he flashed his headlights so he could see if any smoke came out the exhaust. We were going about 45 or so on the highway and he flashed his lights. I floored it, the rear tires started squealing and I was thrown back in the seat as everything around me passed by in a blur.

It ended up living up to its name when it burst into flames while my brother was in a convenience store.

                    • Mittens keep your hands warm December 29th, 2016 at 01:27

                      I. Still that gremlin was a blast! That was a V8 on a roller skate.
I loved the old MGs. Always wanted one. Never got the chance to own or even drive one. I also like the triumph TR7 and the fiat X 1/9.

                    • Mister Atoz December 29th, 2016 at 01:49

All cars that I like, as well. I’m trying to remember the name of car… Ah, yes. The Jensen Interceptor. A small British car (with some rather odd styling) with a factory-installed Chrysler 440 V8. Can you imagine? Another one I liked was the Opel GT. An affordable car with Corvette-ish styling.

                    • Mittens keep your hands warm December 29th, 2016 at 02:20

I’m not familiar with the Jensen, I’ll have to look it up. But the Opel was a cool little car.

So my guess is he spent a lot of time in the garage “tuning” them? ;-)
That era had a lot of very cool British sports cars come out. But, unfortunately, they all seemed to require a great deal of TLC.

Triumph is still in the motorcycle business. Those were pretty unique , and I think still are in this country.

Oh, he used to crash them way before that. He was one of those “Mad Men” type playboys. Actually, my mother ran over his bike when she found out he was at some bar, instead of “working late.” Don’t F with those Italian women. ;)

                    • Mittens keep your hands warm December 29th, 2016 at 13:40

How sad! Crashing cars like that should have been a crime!
I think your mother had the right idea – don’t just get mad – get even! That is indeed a very Italian trait.

                    • Epona December 29th, 2016 at 13:15

My mother had the MG. They were very “cool” in their day.

                    • Mittens keep your hands warm December 29th, 2016 at 13:30

Dang! I’m even more envious now!
My family had a number of completely boring cars. A Ford “Custom” sedan of some sort. A Plymouth Valiant, and later – the most exotic car my parents ever owned – a Fiat Strada. lol!
During that time we did have the “Dream” car in the garage under repair. It was a Fiat 2100 sedan. It had rusted out when I was very young, and my father and I spent many an evening working on repairing that car, and rebuilding the engine. I learned a lot about cars, tools, and how to fix stuff with him along the way. It is odd I ended up being an Engineer, isn’t it?

                    • Epona December 29th, 2016 at 13:38

                      Engineers are so cooooollll.

                    • Mittens keep your hands warm December 29th, 2016 at 13:43

lol! I think that is probably one of the few times I have ever been accused of being cool. “Nerdy”, “Geeky”, sometimes when people are being nice – “brainy”. But very rarely “cool”.

                      *blushes*

Your comment resulted in many other birthday greetings so that was nice, too.

So sad about Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. :-(

Thank you, my dear friend from across the pond!

                  • mistlesuede December 29th, 2016 at 01:28

That makes me happy. You know if I lived in SC I would have baked you one of my famous home made from scratch chocolate layer cakes, right? :) I sent you kisses on the cake.

I was just shocked when I saw that during Rachel’s show tonight. Ari Melber was filling in. She must be on vacation. Either that or she is in purgatory because she did a real interview with that lying sack of crap Kellyanne Conartist. There is something weird going on since then. Anyway, apparently mother and daughter were extremely close and Debbie must have really suffered like us Mom’s do when our kids do. Carrie had a lot of issues with depression, drugs and alcohol. That would be VERY hard to watch and go through as a Mom. What an exit story for both of them together.

                    XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
                    Nite nite.

So, Putin and I, we got this great idea to get manufacturing and jobs going again.

    A NEW COLD WAR!!!

    Just think of the possibilities.
The movies that could be made (i.e., Red Dawn).
The jobs that would be created with all those new bomb shelters!
And all those wonderful gobs of money we’d be swimming in!

    • whatthe46 December 24th, 2016 at 00:14

and no one alive to spend any or see the movies.
