Rubio blasts Obama’s Castro statement: ‘Pathetic’

Posted by | November 26, 2016 11:44 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Marco Rubio attacked President Obama for his statement on the death of Fidel Castro.

…Rubio (R-Fla.) lashed out at President Obama on Saturday for not taking a harsher stance against Fidel Castro in a statement issued after the former Cuban leader’s death.

“President Obama issued a pathetic statement on death of dictator #FidelCastro with no mention of thousands he killed & imprisoned,” Rubio said in a tweet…

In his statement, Obama took pains to avoid expressing any judgments on Castro’s legacy, acknowledging the “powerful emotions” felt by the Cuban people over the passing of a leader who “altered” the course of many of their lives.Meanwhile, Rubio issued his own statement saying that Castro will be remembered as an “evil, murderous dictator who inflicted misery and suffering on his own people.”

We normalized relations with China, Russia, and Vietnam, but never with Cuba. The only reason we didn’t is because of the Cubans living in Miami. And we were just about the only country who had no trade with them. Maybe we were wrong, and not the rest of the world.

If Castro was such a beloved leader, was a great man, and if the country of Cuba such a great place…

Then why didn’t we see people trying to flee America, and escaping to Cuba?

They left Cuba to come here….

    Why?

you’re so consumed with hatred and racism you don’t see the hypocrisy in your own damn statement.

    • Larry Schmitt November 26th, 2016 at 12:49

Considering how badly blacks are still treated sometimes in this country, that’s a damn good question.

    • arc99 November 26th, 2016 at 13:06

      Why?

      Why indeed?

Why are critics of President Obama such hypocrites? Whether it is playing golf far less frequently than some of his predecessors, or extending diplomatic condolences on the death of a head of state of a repressive regime, Mr. Obama is held to a standard imposed on no other President or world leader.

How dare he express condolences on the death of Castro. A real leader would never offer even the most basic civility on the death of a dictator.

Right? Except for a former American President, and a former British head of state, idolized by the American right wing that is..

I should like to convey my sympathy on the death of Chairman Mao Tse-Tung who, as Leader of the Chinese people, played such a prominent rôle on the world stage.

The same reason they come from other Latin American countries. $$

We destroyed their economy and they still were better off than the places we installed murderous puppets, often replacing elected leaders we couped out.

Class vs no class. I am so sorry to see this man leave office, against the worst hate campaign against a US President in history, he stood tall with aplomb and humor. Yeah he wasn’t perfect, but what a contrast the the moron that is following him. A real case of Illegitimi non carborundum.

Well, luckily for Marco, he got the job back he doesn’t want to do.

Meanwhile, normal people will issue their own statements saying that Rubio is an “evil, opportunistic sleazeweasel who inflicted misery and
suffering on his own constituents by being an accomplice to obstruction and a liar.”

Batista ruled with and iron fist, exploited Cuba and its people, made lucrative deals with the US Mafia and turned the country into a den of sin for rich Americans.
Much like South Africa did with Swaziland.
What Rubio won’t tell you is that Batista was hated by the masses and loved by elites and that his entire regime was despised.
Castro had public support and once taking power closed all the brothels and casinos. He jailed the drug lords and corrupt Batista loyalists. Castro then set about to build schools and “

    Let me define pathetic …
It’s a man who calls Trump a mentally unstable, con man, not fit to know my gym locker code let alone have the keys to America’s nuclear arsenal. Trump belittled a disabled person, entire races, and an entire gender…all in the name of furthering his own political goals ….

    Yet Rubio now supports Trump….

    That’s pathetic …

    • StoneyCurtisll November 27th, 2016 at 08:45

      I’ll say it again…
What is pathetic?… Lil Marco and has yapping mouth…

    • bpollen November 27th, 2016 at 19:56
