In a Sunday Mirror exclusive, Vladimir Putin’s London ambassador says Russia will ask Trump to bomb Syria with them.

And Alexander Yakovenko says they will now talk to Trump when he takes office as Obama’s successor in January hoping for a more sympathatic hearing.

He writes: “Use of the Air Force in Syria is part of a diplomacy backed by force.

“We have been trying to coordinate with this US Administration. We’ll continue doing so with the next one.”

At the time when Bashar Assad crossed Obama’s red line, the death toll in the Syrian civil war was estimated to be 100,000 people. Today the estimate is 450,000.

Maybe it’s time for someone to take decisive action and end this thing. Maybe if someone had taken decisive action a couple of years ago, a few hundred thousand lives could have been saved.

It’s hard to say that Obama’s policies have been successful when 350,000 additional people have died on his watch and no resolution is in sight.
