Trump doesn’t want to live at the White House

Posted by | November 12, 2016 14:09 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

You can’t expect a man of his stature to be slumming it.

The questions reflect what Mr. Trump’s advisers described as the president-elect’s coming to grips with the fact that his life is about to change radically. They say that Mr. Trump, who was shocked when he won the election, might spend most of the week in Washington, much like members of Congress, and return to Trump Tower or his golf course in Bedminster, N.J., or his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on weekends…

His aides say he has also expressed interest in continuing to hold the large rallies that were a staple of his candidacy. He likes the instant gratification and adulation that the cheering crowds provide, and his aides are discussing how they might accommodate his demand.

I expected as much. A part-time President, much like his bosom buddy Chris Christie – a no-time governor. Tell Donald to grow up and and be Presidential. Take a teddy bear and move to DC. Or concede the election to an adult – Hillary Clinton. There’s still time.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Trump Lied and said Pres. Obama was Not Born in the U.S. and Yet, HE is bringing in the ” First Stripper “to live in OUR White House and it is Definite that ” IT” was Not born in the U.S.

    • crc3 November 12th, 2016 at 14:58

Ironic yes but it’s more like DISGUSTING…

Don’t speak like that about Melania. This isn’t a political/partisan comment of any sort. She doesn’t deserve being dehumanised any more than anyone else.

      http://thetab.com/us/2016/08/02/slut-shaming-melania-doesnt-make-anti-trump-makes-misogynist-43787

Using that sort of language in talking about her makes you no better than Trump. Don’t be like Trump.

      • oldfart November 13th, 2016 at 09:43

Pointing out the hypocrisy of family values is a time honored tradition.
Neither tRump or Melania seemed bothered by her “exposure”.
Oddly neither did the conservative christian right.

        • Glen November 13th, 2016 at 09:59

Nothing wrong with pointing out the hypocrisy of those who supported Trump and his current wife.

What’s wrong is using terminology like “it” and “first stripper” in reference to her.

You’ll also notice I don’t ever call Donald Trump anything worse than the shorthand “Trump”. To do otherwise would be to sink to his level. I take the same approach to others in the same category.

To give you a sense of what I mean, there’s a politician here in Australia named “Pauline Hanson”. She’s the leader of our tea-party-like party, “One Nation”. A friend of mine called her “Poorline” on social media because she’s always crying discrimination even as she calls to discriminate against others. I admonished him for it. She is vile, and she is a blight on our parliament, but I will call her “Hanson” at worst, and more likely “Senator Hanson” or “Pauline Hanson”. To do otherwise would be to dehumanise her, and that would make me no better than her.

I certainly appreciate your civility Glen.
However our republican party does not share in it.
I understand the risks of falling further down the rat hole.
But in all honesty, the rat hole was created, encouraged and enlarged by the right. It should come to no one’s surprise that the utter abandonment of political correctness and decency has opened the flood gates of what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. The epitome of human nature, at it’s worse (in this country) has taken up residence in the peoples house.

            • Glen November 13th, 2016 at 10:23

All the more reason to do the opposite, and be as civil as it is possible to be.

It’s like in any sport, when you’ve got a bad sportsman – the best way to get under their skin is to behave as the perfect sportsman. By refusing to react in kind, you make them feel small and petty. Not only does it hurt them far more than firing back at them, but it also makes you look better, and them worse, to anyone watching.

              • oldfart November 13th, 2016 at 11:05

Crimes of violence against the innocent have begun to be committed by folks who don’t give a rats behind about being good natured and uttering our president elects name in their rampages.
It appears the old days of the wild west has begun again.
I’m am not sure if NOT reacting in kind is going to be of much use.
I expect to hear of reports of other countries warning it’s citizens to avoid traveling here soon.
I again wish to apologize for the spectacle my country is providing the world to see and hope to remind them we’re all not that bad.
BTW, does your country except political refugees seeking asylum ? ;)

                • Glen November 13th, 2016 at 11:08

As long as you don’t try to come by boat, sure.

Let’s not get into my government’s ludicrous asylum seeker (boat arrival) policy. It’s one of my country’s shames at the moment.

Thanks, I’ll keep it in mind….really.

If he is as rich as he claims to be (we don’t know because he never released his tax records) he should not accept the salary or the expense account given to him by WE THE TAXPAYERS…

“Since 2001, the president has earned a $400,000 annual salary, along with a $50,000 annual expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account, and $19,000 for entertainment.”-Wikipedia

24 hour/7day protests out side whitehouse would probably upset his love life with his trophy.

Instead he’ll just make NY close 5th ave and parts of 57th and 56th streets permanently.

Want’s to continue holding large rallies? For some reason that bothers me. Can’t quite put my finger on it.

You can’t pull off scams in the Whitehouse and those pesky checks and balances are next

    Can’t do it !

  8. StoneyCurtisll November 12th, 2016 at 17:45

Trump doesn’t want to live in “Government Housing”…
Why would he want to move out of his Saddam-esque like palace..
The White house is lacking enough gold flake to suit The Donald and his Euro trash bride.

  9. amersham1046 November 12th, 2016 at 17:57

Why bother with the White House , Junior will be there looking after things, The Donald will be much too busy to worry about all these little government things

  10. LoisB November 12th, 2016 at 18:07

Trump wants the title, not the job. He’ll host the state dinners but Pence and cronies will do the rest.

    • StoneyCurtisll November 13th, 2016 at 02:00

Pence is scarier than Trump in my opinion…
He is an Evangelical freak show..

  11. oldfart November 12th, 2016 at 18:39

    I don’t want you living there either…
You can’t turn the peoples house into a penthouse.

That was the only reason he ran.

” Mr. Trump, who was shocked when he won the election”
This guy is so in over his head, I’m scared for our safety our environment our collective soul.

Trumps going to create a nightmare for the secret service people.Theres more than one reason the tradition is to live in the White House.

  15. fahvel November 13th, 2016 at 04:24

will NYC accept the insanity associated with a pres in town? Hopefully not. This orange fkface is so out of his depth that his ugliness is all that’s visible.

  16. allison1050 November 13th, 2016 at 05:54
