Trump: Putting Clinton in jail ‘not something I’ve given a lot of thought to’

Posted by | November 11, 2016 17:35 | Filed under: Politics

Donald Trump hasn’t been spending time chanting “lock her up” to himself.

“It’s not something I’ve given a lot of thought, because I want to solve healthcare, jobs, border control, tax reform,” Trump said during a Friday interview with the Wall Street Journal.

It’s the first time Trump has directly addressed his threat since his victory on Election Day.

During his presidential campaign, Trump warned he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Clinton.

He repeatedly called the FBI “rigged” for its decision not to recommend charges against the Democratic nominee for her use of a private email server as secretary of State.

When Clinton declared Trump unfit to oversee the criminal-justice system during their final debate, Trump famously shot back “because you’d be in jail.”

I call it bulls#$%! Trump’s a sociopath and they love to get even.

    • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 21:25

He IS that, but he’s no Sherlock.
He’ll doubleplus screw up trying to be the dictator he thinks he can be, IMHO; too many of his “loyal” people will be unwilling to take the blame for him.

      • Warman1138 November 11th, 2016 at 21:35

They’ll just make more stuff up then act like it’s real.

        • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 22:19

I would HATE to be his Press Secretary!
Every announcement starting with “What the President meant was…”

          • Warman1138 November 11th, 2016 at 22:48

            LOL.

          • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:42

maybe Sara Palin will be his speech writer?

            • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 23:45

Don’t dangle that in front of me; he’ll fail without that fantasy;I’m sure of it.
(But it would be icing on the cake…)

If he doesn’t the Tea baggers will howl–
if he does, he will lose–
welcome to where the big boys play

  3. Larry Schmitt November 11th, 2016 at 18:06

That tells us a lot. He said it many many times during the campaign, but he “hasn’t given a lot of thought to it.” That’s probably true of most of the things he has said.

    • Warman1138 November 11th, 2016 at 21:37

That’s what sociopaths do, lie to fit the moment, then lie that they didn’t.

  4. StoneyCurtisll November 11th, 2016 at 19:46

I know it hurts right now seeing Trump elected…
    I’m horribly disappointed and a little scared…
    But..
The most disappointed people 4 years from now are going to be the people that voted for trump..
When they find out he cannot do half of what he promised and they have been hoodwinked on the other half..(there will be no wall, no mass deportation of “Mexicans”, “canceling of the Iran deal” or ‘bring back the coal industry”)…
Those people who believed that line of garbage are going to be pissed that it did not come to fruition…
Mark my word, Trump will blame it on Democrats.

    • Suzanne McFly November 11th, 2016 at 21:12

I think in 2 years the poll sites will be flooded by rump voters voting for democrats.

    • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:41

good. if he’s that bad, we should all consider keeping him in office until they start puking up republicans for the next 20
      generations.

  5. oldfart November 11th, 2016 at 20:45

Wow…he really going to pis* off everybody, isn’t he ?
good thing he has the secret service, he very well may need them.

    • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:44

I don’t see why he needs the secret service. Hell, he can protect himself better than anybody anyway.

      • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 23:47

How much you wanna bet there’s a SS betting pool on when the first attempt will happen, and if whether it’s a disgruntled Trump voter or not?
(jk; the SS is a professional organization, and would cover their tracks on such a thing…)

Trump has backed himself into a corner. If he doesn’t deliver on all the promises he made to his voters, they will be up in arms(maybe literally) If he does begin to implement the more radical elements of his rhetoric, many big shots in the repub party, will begin to take measures to block and obstruct(they have a lot of practice doing that). As the old saying goes, damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.I have read some of the comments on the info war site, and many are “already” disgruntled, and seem to be ready to turn against him if he doesn’t deliver.Either way,it’s turmoil, and he’s not even sworn in yet!

    • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 21:21

I like to think that he’s now realizing that there’s more to the job he just weaseled his way into than lying and lawgiving from on high.

But then I read about his transition team, and realize that he just isn’t that intelligent.
      Oh, well; I know a guy with a boat…

      • Gary Parillo November 11th, 2016 at 21:33

Way back when I was in my early 20s,I needed a job at one point so badly, that I weaseled my way into a factory that manufactures mobile homes. The first day on the job was the last day on the job.Im like a chimpanzee with tools. After standing around the plant feeling like a fish out of water,I slithered away at Lunch time, and never looked back. So,maybe?

        • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 21:41

Some do better with tools, some do better with their mind…I’m kinda in the middle, thankfully; I’ll survive, regardless.
OH! As for “imfro warz” (I ain’t typing it), the comments there are pure klan, with some stupidity for seasoning! Yeesh, gonna have to scrub my history afetr reading them!

    • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:37

there’s already complaints against any Military interventions abroad when there’s this huge threat from armed white racist. If he refuses to disarm and arrest ALL those who participated in the FAILED armed attempt to overthrow the US Government in Nevada, 2014, there will be very little support for overseas involvements. (no easy money to put in their offshore bank accounts) if he does have them disarmed and arrested, the call will go out to other white racist he’s confiscating guns. All those who were so fearful that Hillary would limit the capacity to 10 rounds for their assault rifles won’t have to worry at all! no gun = no need for high capacity magazines. As greedy as republicans are, I think they’re more than willing to dump the white terrorist and go for the $$$.

  7. Suzanne McFly November 11th, 2016 at 21:10

How long is the list of items he did give a lot of time to think through?

    • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 21:12

How much time do you have to spare?

      • Suzanne McFly November 11th, 2016 at 21:40

You think that list would be long?

        • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 22:14

Consider how the average sociopath thinks; how every person is to be used/played/taken advantage of.
There’s been plenty of thought put to how he’s going to use this to his advantage.
Maybe not said, but surely plenty of thought; that’s what a con man does (And ALL con men are sociopaths).
Also, this has been an interesting campaign, and the fun’s really only just begun; the infighting’s gonna be spectacular, as all of these “Republicans” who jumped on the trump parade float jockey for the position best suited to advance themselves…it will get vicious, because none of them are in this for anything but themselves. And Trump knows this. But what about all of those promises he made? Who to please? People who voted for him? Or people who can help him NOW? What about his image? How can the lil’ Trumps benefit? Would America, and specifically the Evangelicals, get mad if I got divorced, and Melania became the First Ex-Lady? Who to please, and what’s in it for ME!?!?
He’s been thinking things through, all right, but he’s not the kind who will let others think for him, as a rule…and THAT’S where he’ll fail, because a President is only as good as his advisors, and he’s not going to let anyone else outshine him in the public light.

          • Warman1138 November 11th, 2016 at 22:51

I was watching when he met with pres. Obama and he looked uncomfortable like he didn’t want to be there and had better things to do.

            • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:27

reminded me of a 4th grader sitting beside an adult they were a little afraid of.

            • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 23:41

Just so; like Dorothy when she said to Toto”I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!”.
I honestly believe that he thought (before last week) that he had it in the bag, but he’s just now realizing what he’s gotten himself into.
The people will NOT be satisfied with a POTUS that lets the VP run things while he, himself, makes America”great again”…
What’s that saying about pride going before something?

              • Warman1138 November 12th, 2016 at 00:06

The fall of Trump will be America’s spring.

  8. granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:24

he probably really doesn’t care, like GW when he got what he wanted by using Osama bin Laden.

    • Hirightnow November 11th, 2016 at 23:42

We’re discussing Presidents, not George Walker Bush…

      • granpa.usthai November 11th, 2016 at 23:48

excuse me, I thought we were talking about those raised in the privileged class using people to get what they want, then not caring about it.

        my mistake.

BTW: how did the book ‘My Pet Goat’ come out?

        • Ed VanDyke November 12th, 2016 at 00:28

I really don’t know on the story. I’ve looked for it in the past, but come up empty. “The Pet Goat” (correct name) isn’t actually a storybook, but rather an exercise in a 2nd grade reading workbook. I forget the name of the workbook, but the author works/ed at UofO in Eugene Oregon… That remains one of those mysteries tickling the back of my brain from time to time. I just don’t know what happened with that goat and that little girl… :)

        • Hirightnow November 12th, 2016 at 01:38

The goat ends up defeating the enemies of the State, and goes on to live a life of religious fulfillment…

  9. Ed VanDyke November 12th, 2016 at 00:53

Trump hasn’t given any thought to anything he’s said. His talents are in whipping up a mob. And his mobs seem limited to three syllables or less. He has all the leadership credentials of a high school cheerleader. (though he should be required to stay at least 500′ away from high school cheerleaders)…

  10. William November 12th, 2016 at 01:43

I give it six months and the chatter around the trailer park will be as follows. “Hey Cletus, hows come them thar brown people is still here, and how come the Mexicans and Muslim aint gone”. Yeah Bubba, and the old steel mill aint opened up neither.

  11. oldfart November 12th, 2016 at 02:06

    Must. Dig. Faster…

  12. President Unhinged November 12th, 2016 at 09:22

The best quote I’ve heard since the election result came from multi-billionaire, Richard Branson (who is wealthier than Trump), yesterday. I paraphrase his quote below:

“The people most likely to be hurt by Trump’s policies are the ones that voted for him.”

The poor and “unsuccessful” should be prepared to be hurt like never before. And if a war does break out with another country, whose sons do you think will go into battle?

    …it ain’t me…it ain’t me…I ain’t no billionaire’s son…

  13. Willys41 November 12th, 2016 at 11:33

    “. . . not something I’ve given a lot of thought . . .”

Pretty much covers the whole platform. The new job. The whole world.
