Jane Sanders: ‘Absolutely’ Bernie would have won

Posted by | November 11, 2016 16:26 | Filed under: Politics

There is no question in Jane Sanders’ mind that her husband would have beaten Donald Trump in the presidential race.

In an interview on CNN, Wolf Blitzer asked Sanders, “Do you think your husband would have had a better chance at beating Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton did?”

“Absolutely,” she responded, “but it doesn’t matter now.”Bernie Sanders ran to the left of Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primary and was hindered by what his supporters called institutional bias.

Multiple polls at the time showed the self-described Democratic socialist performing better in a general election matchup against Trump than Clinton would — or did.

The senator struck a similar “what good does it do now?” tone in his own CNN interview on Thursday.

“I don’t think it makes a whole lot of sense to do Monday-morning quarterbacking right now. The election is over. Donald Trump won,” he said.

Good thing the corrupt DNC sabotaged Bernie, The corrupt media cartied her water and the Super delegates wrapped the whole package up with a silk ribbon.
Nobody in the democrat party is a victim, You are all complicit!

4 years from now, they will realize they got fugged…
Trump isnt going to do anything but make a mess of our country.

Bloomberg couldn’t improve nyc long term so the trumpster can’t possibly do it nationwide. I have no idea why people think billionaires have flyovers and the working class in their best interest It’s only a bucket list ego trip for them when the job only pays 250 grand a year

          • StoneyCurtisll November 12th, 2016 at 19:24

Your guess is as good as mine…:)

How does it feel to be manipulated by Validmire Putin and Russian hackers and a guy hinding in the basement of the Ecuadorian Embassy who is running away from rape charges..
The “Red” in red eye robot is showing..

    • Kick Frenzy November 11th, 2016 at 22:33

Are Republicans able to consider themselves victims, now that Trump is bringing on lobbyists and insiders into his administration?
Or better put, now that Trump is widening the swamp instead of draining it.

“Multiple polls at the time showed the self-described Democratic socialist performing better in a general election matchup against Trump than Clinton would — or did”

Polls schmolls. After the polling debacle of this election I highly doubt those polls citing Bernie as having a chance would have been right either….

  3. robert November 11th, 2016 at 17:13

22 states won only to be blindsided by DWS add insult to injury she gets employed by Hillary.

Unspoken backstage deals made that have yet to go public

  4. StoneyCurtisll November 11th, 2016 at 20:46

Donald trump thanks the Bernie, Jill Stein, and Johnson supporters and of course the Russians for his victory..

    • Kick Frenzy November 11th, 2016 at 22:34

Actually… Trump thanks Hillary, her campaign, the DNC, and the media.

      • whatthe46 November 11th, 2016 at 22:39

if you didn’t vote for Hillary, he thanks you too.

        • Kick Frenzy November 11th, 2016 at 23:02

          Two things.

          1) That’s her problem for being a candidate I absolutely couldn’t support.
          2) As I’ve already explained, I’m in NJ, where we strongly went for Clinton.

So no, I didn’t help him.
Please stop being inane about it.
          There’s no need for it.

          • whatthe46 November 11th, 2016 at 23:22

i’m pissed. there is a need for it. not supporting sanity means you supported for stupidity. and children are being seriously affected by this. parents are terrified for them. death threats seem to be the new norm. it’s a big damn deal.

            • oldfart November 12th, 2016 at 01:50

Not for nothing…and he requires no defense from me,
he DID vote and he voted his conscience.
After all, it is his civic duty…and right.
Think of the millions who did not vote at all. This whole country, once again, let everyone down. Barely a third showed up.
My vote for Hillary in New York would have been just as good as a write in for Bernie.
              I KNOW your pissed.

              • whatthe46 November 12th, 2016 at 02:49

but, to throw your vote away as a means of protesting at the risk of what we are now and what we all knew we would be facing, and then complain because little hitler wanna be won, is wrong.

                • oldfart November 12th, 2016 at 09:42

That’s were we differ on it. I don’t believe the act of actually voting ones conscience is throwing away a vote, not voting is…MILLIONS did not or could not (IMO, your ire should focused on that).
Like you I agree that If you don’t vote, you have zero right to complain.
To be totally honest, my decision to vote for Hillary was not without anguish. I supported Bernie, for many of the same reasons Kick did. I could not vote for anyone else because in my mind there was no one else who had a real chance to do so. But that’s just me. I am pretty damn sure Kick despises Herr elect tRumpster as much as we all do.
In retrospect, writing in Bernie (voting my conscience) wouldn’t have changed the outcome either.
I said in another post, I only dread one day at a time.
The battle is ahead of us, not behind us.

                  • Kick Frenzy November 12th, 2016 at 20:54

                    Beautifully stated.

            • Kick Frenzy November 12th, 2016 at 20:50

Trump being elected is a big deal.
Doing something about that is important.
People who are terrified have good reason and it’s horrific.

              But…
What I did was vote for sanity.
What I did was support a smart candidate.
What I did HAD NO F*KING BEARING on Trump’s win.
              None.

Your incessant finger pointing at me with spittle shooting out the corners of your mouth, telling me what a horrible person I am for making Trump’s win possible is a denial of reality that only serves to feed your baseless claim that I somehow am to blame.

              Be pissed.
Be pissed at people who voted for Trump.
Be pissed at the DNC for unfairly siding with Hillary and doing all they could to crush Bernie and lift her up.

Just, whatever you do, please be pissed at things which you have good reason to be pissed at.
Being pissed at me for writing in Bernie Sanders in a state that voted for Hillary is stupid and hollow.

          • Glen November 12th, 2016 at 10:23

You can’t legitimately say “Actually… Trump thanks Hillary, her campaign, the DNC, and the media”, and then tell someone else to “Please stop being inane”. whatthe46’s inanity was a response to your own.

            • Kick Frenzy November 12th, 2016 at 20:53

No, the inanity is when whatthe keeps insisting I am part of the problem.
When I’m being told that my vote for Sanders helped Trump, when that’s factually impossible, it’s not outside the scope of reason to state that it’s a point without merit.

      • StoneyCurtisll November 12th, 2016 at 19:31

        Them as well….
There is plenty of blame to go around….

  5. Gary Parillo November 11th, 2016 at 21:06

I like Bernies what good does it do now attitude. He is correct, but I’m not there yet.He had my vote in the primary, and I took his advice and voted Hillary in the election. He remains a good man who has the countries best interests at heart. If he would have been elected,a lot would have changed for the better. Now it will change for the worst.

  6. jybarz November 11th, 2016 at 22:37

Hope Bernie would still be very healthy able bodied, still willing to fight on (I’m sure he always will), the super delegates abolished, and the DNC be neutral in 2020.

He would have been President-Elect now for sure if he hadn’t been cheated by the DNC & DWS and the bias establishment super delegates.

  7. oldfart November 12th, 2016 at 01:36

I would have liked to think he could have…too.

The right win Fear and Loathing Machine has been working for decades to take power, everywhere, and this Presidential election is how they do it. Everyone should remember all the horrible stuff thrown at Obama, relentlessly, during the elections and all throughout his two terms. The same tactic has been used everywhere in the country, with dreadful slogans being thrown at any sane person (dem, or third party) running, at any level. No facts, no platforms, just the worst of mud slinging, and using the silly yet useful label of “outsider” to garner votes. It started long ago, with Reagan poisoning the well, calling government itself evil, and now the idea of “career politician” is akin to corruption and satanic behavior.
There is no perfect candidate, now or in the future, and any candidate who sincerely works to take back the power from shady interest groups and ugly corporateers will be met with a fusillade of hate and attempts to destroy them.
The media loves these fights, keeps them going, as it ups their viewership and bottom dollar, and any real news and facts must be carefully sought, which is far beyond what most people do.
Things look grim, and squabbling about crumbs and who failed, or whatever, is only helping to further discourage, divide and keep us all from fighting back at the real bad guys.
Trump is bad enough, but look at who he is dragging in to determine the future of our country…it is a nightmare.
