Woman accusing Trump of teen rape drops suit

Posted by | November 5, 2016 08:22 | Filed under: Politics

The woman who claims Trump raped here when she was 13 has dropped her federal lawsuit.

The accuser, identified in the lawsuit by the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” was expected to appear at a news conference in Los Angeles Wednesday, but that appearance was abruptly canceled.

The lawyer who organized the event, Lisa Bloom, said Trump’s accuser had received threats and was too frightened to show up.

In the most recent suit, Trump’s accuser asserted that while she was exploring a modeling career in 1994, she attended a series of parties at the Manhattan home of prominent investor Jeffrey Epstein. She alleges that during those parties the real estate mogul tied her to a bed and raped her. She also claimed Epstein raped her during that series of gatherings

The accuser’s lead attorney, Thomas Meagher of New Jersey, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. He filed a one-page notice dismissing the case Friday evening in federal court in Manhattan. No explanation was given for the action.

Being put through the legal and emotional wringer doesn’t guarantee justice.

The truth is that there are few incentives to coming forward with an allegation of sexual assault. It means having to recount a trauma over and over again, to people who may not even believe that what you say happened actually happened.

the truth is, the best incentive in going forward is letting your rapist know he no longer has control over you. in her case her life was being threatened and getting to this point by coming forward was very brave considering what she was going up against.

Check her bank account and then check funds disbursements from the Trump Foundation. This was a civil suit and obviously it was just settled out of court.

“November 14, 1998 – WASHINGTON — President Clinton agreed Friday to pay $850,000 to Paula Corbin Jones to end her sexual harassment lawsuit, finally settling a case that began as an embarrassing nuisance for the former Arkansas governor but later sparked a criminal investigation that threatened to topple him from office.”

        Key word being ‘nuisance’.

        • Robert M. Snyder November 5th, 2016 at 12:11

          Key phrase being “criminal investigation”.

          • StoneyCurtisll November 5th, 2016 at 21:07

Criminal investigation of which no criminal charges were filed..
I don’t know what part of No Charges Filed the right wing freakout machine doesn’t understand.

          • whatthe46 November 5th, 2016 at 21:24

1998 and we’re in 2016 and STILL NO charges. that’s a hard on you’ve had for far too long. i think you need to see a doctor about that condition. nov. 28, tRump on trial for fraud, leading to criminal charges. tRump being investigated for setting up fake foundation leading to charges of racketeering. tRump the racist, low down disgusting piece of sh!t, that scammed the elderly and desperate. tRump the low down bastard that refuses to pay contractors after completing the jobs hired. and then some. tRump accused of raping a 13 y/o who is now to afraid to testify because of death threats. tRump the nasty McFuck Face, sexually assaulted 13 women and brags about it and you don’t give a damn because “1998.” you are, like all tRump poorly educated supporters, are fk’n hypocrites.

Whatever happened to Herman Cain? Apparently none of those women pursued cases against him after he dropped out of the 2012 race. If you don’t believe the women who make claims about Bill Clinton, why should anyone believe the women who make claims about Herman Cain and Donald Trump?

              Your double standard is showing.

    • dave-dr-gonzo November 5th, 2016 at 11:36

      That’s my suspicion.

And it’s a waaaay different situation than Paula Corbin Jones. Let’s not forget that Clinton’s attorney, Bob Bennett, destroyed her story on the witness stand. Strategically, it was a good move for Clinton to pay off her handlers (Jones got almost none of the $850,000; most went to her crooked lawyers who used her for an easy payday).

      • Dwendt44 November 5th, 2016 at 12:05

The Clinton Haters would have loved to drag the suit out for many months. The whole point of the suit was to embarrass Bill Clinton in the first place.
Jones got her 30 pieces of silver though. A new car (she couldn’t afford to keep), plastic surgery, and travel and so forth. Once the suit was done, she was kicked to the curb, as she was of no use to the wacky right.

Can we be more specific. What were the threats, how many and by whom?
