Tapper to Giuliani: If Trump wants black outreach, how about apologizing for birtherism

Of course, Rudy Giuliani made excuses for Trump rather than denounce his birtherism.

Giuliani argued that Clinton spread that before Trump did, but Tapper corrected him and said it was spread by people around Clinton and not publicly egged on by Clinton as Trump did for a while.

Giuliani even suggested that the black people upset at Trump over this may have “faulty” memories over who supposedly started it.

But Tapper asked, “Should he just apologize for this if he really wants to reach out to minority voters?”

Giuliani deferred and said if everyone apologized for everything they’ve ever said, no one would talk about anything else. He made the case that Trump is attempting to show black voters that Democratic policies haven’t worked for them.
