151,000 jobs created in August

This doesn’t include new Trump managers.

The U.S. added 151,000 jobs in August, slowing sharply from earlier in the summer and probably pushing an expected increase in U.S. interest rates toward the end of the year. Economists polled by MarketWatch had predicted 170,000 gain in new nonfarm jobs. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.9%. A broader measure of unemployment known as U6 was flat at 9.7%, the government said Friday. Average hourly wages rose 0.1% to $25.73.

What is the missing piece for the working class puzzle?

Trump thinks it’s him but the fact of the matter it is the lack of viable labor unions, which the trump dummies hate..

What is the missing piece for the working class puzzle?

      A republican controlled congress…
      from the Eisenhower administration ?
What this country needs is a national infrastructure jobs bill equal to what Ike did with the interstate system…but not just roads and bridges. Housing, schools, bullet rail, water lines, sewer lines, power grid.
Two problems with that of coarse, republicans today are only interested in their own jobs and if everyone who can, gets “meaningful” employment, there will very few people left for republicans to point at and accuse them of being takers.
And god forbid Obama gets the credit…

        Yeah.
The part they liked from the Eisenhower administration (which they consider the good ol’ days) was those 3 recessions in 8 years….

          Stones fan from way back.
A highlight of my teen years was acting a fool at a Stones concert at the Capital Centre in ’75 when Jagger pointed at me and said, “That boy’s crazy.”

As I recall, tickets were $8.50.

        Useless bit of trivia:
Amid the grafitti on the wall we read:
        “Dirt + Boris.”

That was written by Richards, a reference to his parents, Bert and Doris.

Yeah. As I recall, that photo was of a bathroom at EMI recording studios.
I’m not positive, but I believe another bit of grafitti on there refers to “Spanish Tony,” who was a drug dealer.
The record company refused to release the record with that cover.
When they put it out with the white cover, the Stones had a food fight.
Nowadays I think the CD is available with that cover.
It’s one of my fave Rolling Stones records.

It will be fun tomorrow listening to Right-wing radio. Every month the jobs report has come out since January 2008, they invariably say that unemployment actually went up. If what they said was true, by now the U.S. unemployment rate would be over 800%

  6. StoneyCurtisll September 3rd, 2016 at 10:39

The 151k uptick in employment is good news, but a little disappointing, the revised number for July went up and was around 280k which was really good…
But any job growth no matter good, or astounding is bad news for Republicans because they cant point to it and say “we are losing jobs”..
All they can do with the latest number is say, “we can do better”…(as if)
