How can you live without this?

The futuristic appliance, which is supposed to start shipping in July of 2017 and has raised almost $90,000 on Kickstarter, aims to solve the problem with our current toasters, which is that all they can do is cook things. The toaster connects to your smartphone via bluetooth, and using the Toasteroid’s app, allows you to select a design, draw a picture of your own, write messages, or have the weather forecast toasted into bread.

If you don’t care about being able to communicate passively aggressively with your roommates via bread, you still might want the item. Because it has the capability of darkening the bread in a precise way, you can make your breakfast exactly as dark as you want without having to hover over it the entire time it cooks.

    I love this idea!

    Toasters could also give your horoscope, a lottery number, sports scores, birthday reminders or a daily blessing.

    Considering all the crap the Internet is used for, messages on toast seems kind of cool.

      I think the weather report is sort of silly, but other things could be cool. IIRC, Sheldon Cooper’s toaster made designs.
