So far, 165 guns are reported to have been bought back.

Cops offered a $200 bank card for working handguns and assault rifles and a $25 card for rifles and shotguns turned in at the Fellowship Tabernacle of Praise on E. Gun Hill Road in Laconia and the Evangelical Garifuna Church on Brook Ave. in Mott Haven. They employed a no-questions-asked policy.

Shooting incidents are down 19.3% citywide compared to the same time period last year, with 531 shootings through July 31, compared to 662 in 2015.

While this is a good idea, it is still like bringing sand to the beach.

We need a comprehensive federal legislation that takes guns out of the hands of morons.

At this point I would settle for making it as difficult to buy a gun as it is to vote…if you have to show ID to vote, surely we can close the gun show loop hole that allows 38 states to trade in weapons without any ID whatsoever…
