Vet gifts Trump Purple Heart; Trump: ‘always wanted one’

A Trump-supporting veteran gifted the candidate his Purple Heart Tuesday, and Trump happily accepted it.

Purple Hearts are awarded to service members who suffer wounds in combat.

“Something very nice just happened to me. A man came up to me and handed me his Purple Heart,” Trump told supporters at a campaign event here. “I said to him, ‘Is that like the real one or is that a copy?’ And he said, ‘That’s my real Purple Heart. I have such confidence in you.'”

Trump received the veteran on stage at the start of the rally to receive the decoration.

“I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier,” Trump said.

Trump then pocketed the decoration after the veteran left the stage.

      Then there was the fifth deferment that was a medical deferment for “bone spurs” in his heel, but Trump couldn’t remember which heel it was or how it was resolved.

    So, this is Trump’s Olympic moment, where the US gold medal winners always have the publicity shot of them biting down on the medal to confirm it’s real gold?

    Except in Trump’s case, the gold medal was given to him by someone else, who actually did the winning of the medal.

    Considering Trump took a student deferment and then followed it up with a “bone spur” despite being quite athletic, I have no doubt of Trump’s sincerity.

    What he got was a copy of a Purple Heart… just like one he could buy on Ebay for around $8… or ~$40 retail. He coulda had his charity buy it FOR him.
