The Turtles didn’t like G.E. Smith doing a cover of “Happy Together” at the Republican convention. First Howard Kaylan consulted with lawyers.

That led to a slap Mrs. Trump.

    best version of that song was a live rendition on the Filmore Live album when Howard Kaylan and fellow ex-Turtle Mark Volman had a brief stint as lead singers for Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.

    I did get a good chuckle out of them playing that song when the RNC started up.
    Then I was like “What’s the SNL guy doing at the RNC?!?”
    Then later, as things quickly devolved into chaos, I chuckled again thinking of them singing “so happy together”.

    Good times.
