Ryan: Trump ‘not my kind of conservative’

But Speaker Ryan believes the party must get behind him.

Speaking at a lunch hosted by The Wall Street Journal here, the Wisconsin Republican said that while he and Mr. Trump differ on certain policy proposals—for example, building a wall on the U.S.’s border with Mexico, or banning Muslims from entering the country—they are “on the same page” on the party’s core principles. “We’re a big tent party. Big tent—real big,” he said.

Mr. Ryan endorsed Mr. Trump last month, after initially declining to do so, but has kept his distance from the presumptive nominee, at times criticizing the businessman for controversial comments—for instance, his tweet of an image that critics called anti-Semitic. His tepid embrace of Mr. Trump creates an awkward situation for the speaker, who is serving as chairman of the convention but is expected to keep the focus more on his policy proposals than on the party’s nominee.

Eddie Munster has spoken :-( Repulsive core principles include (but not limited to) screwing anyone who is not part of the 1% to the wall AND making sure the oligarchy strengthens thereby choking the life out of what made this country great…

‘We’re a tiny tent party. Tiny tent—real tiny’ Ryan’s fact checked reality is an average 27% of registered voters remain GOP. Woo-hoo! Dems 35%. Indy’s 31% via party ID polls. http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/party-identification
