Jeffress: It’s ‘biblical’ to have ‘strongman’ as president

Posted by | July 13, 2016 14:04 | Filed under: Politics Religion

Pastor Robert Jeffress endorses having the “meanest” possible person as president.

“But as far as his worldview, Trump’s worldview,” he continued, “you know, I was debating an evangelical professor on NPR and this professor said, ‘Pastor, don’t you want a candidate who embodies the teaching of Jesus and would govern this country according to the principles found in the Sermon on the Mount?’ I said, ‘Heck no.’ I would run from that candidate as far as possible, because the Sermon on the Mount was not given as a governing principle for this nation.

“Nowhere is government told to forgive those who wrong it, nowhere is government told to turn the other cheek. Government is to be a strongman to protect its citizens against evildoers. When I’m looking for somebody who’s going to deal with ISIS and exterminate ISIS, I don’t care about that candidate’s tone or vocabulary, I want the meanest, toughest, son of a you-know-what I can find, and I believe that’s biblical.”

There is something wrong with Jeffress, I am not sure if he is playing with a full deck.

Just a hunch, but if there really was a christian god he’d of already zapped a$$hats like this ages ago with a lightening bolt…

A pastor is calling for the “extermination of ISIS”? I thought the bible taught, “thou shalt not kill”. On the other hand, since I’m not familiar with the republican version of the good book, it may perhaps say something like, “thou shalt not kill, except for Muslims, Jews, gays, Atheists, women and ISIS”.

It basically means don’t kill another Hebrew. Those of other or no faith, go ahead and slaughter them.

You have described the type of theocracy that many of the evangelical militant dominionist nutcases dream of.And believe it or not,in the 21st century many of them have made public statements to that effect. These are the people that Trump has been surrounding himself with and they desire to use him as their puppet.Thesevare the people that will influence DT in his picks for the supreme court. These people are insane, and if they were not hiding behind the shield of the church,we would consider them mentally unbalanced and have the law take them away for evaluation. If they follow the example of the “old testament” in their “holy book”,they will probably spare the lives of the women and use them for sexual slavery as they did in the “good old biblical” days of the old testament.Oh and you forgot witches. They love to burn anyone into magic at the stake as they did in the beginning of the glorious ” new testament” days.I wish some people in positions of power would have enough backbone to stand up and expose these Abrahamic religions for the desttructive, violent, bloodthirsty, outdated, and dangerous brainwarping institutions that they really are.Elect DT and it will become the good old new old dark ages once again!

A strawman..he almost got it right

Yeah, the Christian (and other) religions love a ‘strong man’ to beat, kill and maim.
Afterall, the Christian god killed everyone on earth except Noah and some animals; so gods are insecure, petty and vindictive.
    Sounds like Trump!
This guy may have a point.

I’ve read the bible several times and have yet to stumble on a verse that even mentions a president. Only governments allowed by the bible are the monarchy and the theocracy.

Memo to Pastor Robert Jeffres , there are many nations in this world you and your views are not welcomed

    Hung by his own words.

Christianity’s greatest threat is shameful “preachers” like this phony. If I weren’t a Christian, and Jeffress was my only exposure to it, no way would I convert.

What a pervert. And his attempt to be cute by saying “son-of-a-you-know-what” gives you a clue as to his private conversations. Anything but Christian.

I bet Pastor Jeffress has a naked fireman calendar in his pulpit.

      And mine is missing.

      • bpollen July 14th, 2016 at 01:23

    • whatthe46 July 13th, 2016 at 23:55

and a penis pump too. all that hummin’ ain’t from the choir.

      • StoneyCurtisll July 14th, 2016 at 12:25

        That “shwoosh” sound is unmistakable…
Stiff Sentence recordmended for penis pump judge..
        http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/29/pneumatic_judge/

A key witness in the trial has been former court reporter Lisa
Foster. In giving testimony, she “wiped away tears as she described
tracing an unfamiliar ‘sh-sh’ in the courtroom to her boss”. Foster
alleges that between 2001 and 2003 she saw the judge expose himself “at
least 15 times”, adding: “I was really shocked and I was kind of scared
        because it was so bizarre.”

Foster further testified that during a 2002 trial,
she heard the pump “during the emotional testimony of a murdered
toddler’s grandfather”. She continued: “The grandfather was getting real
teary-eyed, and the judge was up there pumping on that pump. It was
        sickening.”

Even more things in his closet and under his mattress…:)

I found something biblical that references you, Pastor. Actually, a couple of biblical references:

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
    — Matthew 7:15

“God’s Spirit specifically tells us that in later days there will be men who abandon the true faith and allow themselves to be spiritually seduced by teachings of the devil, teachings given by men who are lying hypocrites, whose consciences are as dead as seared flesh.”
    — 1 Timothy 4

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
    — Matthew 24:24

“Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
    — John 8:44

There’s more, but even YOU should get the drift, Pastor FauxProphet…

    • StoneyCurtisll July 14th, 2016 at 12:18

      High Five~!
Especially to the “false Prophets “..

  11. fahvel July 14th, 2016 at 03:11

somewhat like what the roman governor and the top rabbis did back in the day – ignore all goodness and nail the big mouth to a tree and slowly, with all that follows, destroy, destroy, destroy while the govts get bigger and meaner and just plain trumpish – good luck homo sapiens.

  12. StoneyCurtisll July 14th, 2016 at 12:11

So it seems that “pastor” Jeffress would support “strongmen” like Saddam Hussian, Gaddafi or Bashar al-Assad, in a biblical context of course….
Cause we all know the bible is infallible and without conflicting ideals…
