Dallas cop killer was Army reservist in Afghanistan, had massive cache of weapons

Micah Xavier Johnson was equipped for war.

Johnson, 25, was wearing body armor and toting an SKS semi-automatic assault rifle and a handgun when he started picking off cops in downtown Dallas Thursday night, a law enforcement source told CBS News.

In his home, investigators found a massive cache of weapons — bomb-making materials, ballistic vests, rifles, ammunition, and a personal journal of combat tactics, authorities said.

Johnson was well trained in using the weapons of war. He served as a reservist for six years until 2015 and was deployed to Afghanistan between Nov. 2013 and July 2014, an Army spokeswoman told the Daily News.

He was a carpentry and masonry specialist, with a rank of private first class, and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal…

But he didn’t have an especially glowing reputation among members of his unit.

“We all knew he was a pervert cuz he got caught stealing girls panties but murdering cops is a different story,” Wells Newsome, a former bunkmate of Johnson’s, wrote on Facebook.

The man is a disgrace to the Dashiki…..
And Johnson did more damage to the cause than anyone can imagine…
Did he really think his actions were going to make police step back and think rationally next time they stop a black man?

    I have a bad bad feeling….
We may look back on 2016 as the calm before the storm..

I don’t condone his actions but I understand why he did it, we are the most hated race in this country since Americans are not getting 100% profit from us, anymore! They still make money off us in the private prison system but the must feed and give us medical attention, which stills cost them money and they are making money off us as we sell the governments drugs for them, you guys may not agree but that is just my opinion!

      • StoneyCurtisll July 9th, 2016 at 00:58

        I understand his motives..
But his actions are totally counter productive….
it just turns the volume up from 10, to 11….

Next thing ya know, the white supremacist are gonna lash back..(more killings/bombings)
The Police are going to even more aggressive to the “black community” cause now they are really afraid they might get shot…(Dallas)

I see nothing good in the near future…
        I hope I’m wrong.

        • Tommie July 9th, 2016 at 01:17

Sorry, but you are correct and since the KKK has infiltrated all positions of power and government, we have no chance, glad I am in San Diego since the cops out here are not that bad as cops in the south, and Minn. since there are a large Muslim population!

        • whatthe46 July 9th, 2016 at 01:37

“Next thing ya know, the white supremacist are gonna lash back..(more killings/bombings)” like that hasn’t been happening. they are called the “police.” so, are people suppose to just sit back and “stay in their place” because they should accept being executed daily? thanks to the GOPissers, thanks to the paid and bought for CONGRESS on “not” gun sense, thanks to the NRA, thanks to the ignorance. the people weren’t aggressive to begin with. the RACIST POLICE were. everyday, minorities are afraid they are going to get SHOT. get pulled over, get executed. “COPS” are NOT the endangered species, people with brown skin are.

Police are going to even more aggressive to the “black community”
          .
Or possibly worse, pull back, without a presence violence will escalate, not against police, but the citizens as they are now unwilling to go among due to the shootings.
          .
          I hope yer wrong too.

          • StoneyCurtisll July 9th, 2016 at 11:22

            Wow…
Could you have made a more vague, thinly veiled racist comment?…

            • amongoose July 9th, 2016 at 22:30

The lack of, or reduced police presence would increase crime in any neighborhood it happened in.
              How is that racist?

              • StoneyCurtisll July 10th, 2016 at 15:04

                This is your comment….
“Or possibly worse, (police) pull back, without a presence violence will escalate,
not against police, but the citizens as they are now unwilling to go
                among due to the shootings.”

As if without proper oversight from Police for fear of the population, blacks are going to run amok and commit violent acts upon themselves with unbridled abandon?
Are you suggesting that they prone to violence if left to themselves?

                • amongoose July 10th, 2016 at 15:20

Is it racist because of the neighborhood?
It was a statement of consequences and a reason they may not want to go. It has already cause a diminished police presence as a result. There are now two officers per car, coverage has been cut in half and response times doubled.
I’m not the one looking at it as a racial thing, you are.

                  • StoneyCurtisll July 10th, 2016 at 17:20

You call “two officers per car” a “diminished police presence”??
Brother, ya need to take a deep breath…
Even if there are only half the patrols with twice the police officers per car….
It’s the same amount of Police patrolling the same area…
                    it’s simple math.

                    • amongoose July 10th, 2016 at 17:54

If you have 100 officers, 100 cars, and 100 patrol routes putting two to a car leaves 50 routes patrolled.
That results in half of the number of vehicles covering the same area with the number of officers on shift now.
You either shuffle desk personnel to cars, or hire more officers to make up the difference.

I agree, I have been saying that all along, it was bad before when they were hassling black people just because they were black but that private ‘justice’ and private prisons made it even worse!

Now that private, for profit prison industry is literally is using people for slave labor. It is actual slavery since they are RENTING human beings to corporations to make blue jeans, office furniture, assemble engines, pluck chickens and stock store shelves after the stores close. That constant stopping people in their cars or on the streets is also the private ‘justice’ system where private debt collectors dispense the justice to nickle and dime people to death and where no fine can ever be paid off because they just keep adding fees to it.

It is so heart breaking, back when I was younger, we all thought it was fixed or at least getting better because we marched, because civil rights laws were made, because it was the 60s and peace and love and ….

We dropped the ball, we didn’t finish what we started, we weren’t watching, we weren’t vigilant, we were too trusting…we should have known better.

        • Tommie July 9th, 2016 at 07:45

Nicely said but don’t feel too bad, I don’t think anything would have stopped this from happening, imo!

Would hope there is more background information on this individual, was he Honorably/Medically Discharged or what? Is there a mental history and if so was he being treated if not, why not? Serious questions need serious answers on why one man can do so much damage to other human life…America needs to know!

According to what I can find out, he was shipped out of Afghanistan due to a sexual harassment charge that even his own lawyer called “egregious” and the victim was granted a protective order. The Army recommended him for an “other than honorable” discharge, but ended up granting him an Honorable Discharge. Which is an insult to those soldiers who deserved “Honorable” on their DD214.
