New video has emerged of the killing of Alton Sterling by Baton Rouge police, and the Daily Beast has it.

Sterling’s death at the hands of two white officers has triggered protests in Baton Rouge and unleashed a national outcry, leading to calls by both the NAACP and members of Congress for a federal investigation, which the Justice Department has begun.

On Tuesday night, a 911 caller said a man at the store was threatening patrons with a gun. Officers Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake responded to the call from the Triple S Food Mart and encountered Sterling in the parking lot. Store owner Abduallah Muflahi told The Daily Beast that Sterling was not the person who was causing trouble and was a welcome presence at the store for years where he sold CDs from the parking lot.

Yet after tackling Sterling and bringing him to the ground, one of the officers yelled, “He’s got a gun!”
The new video, provided by Muflahi, does not appear to support the claim that Sterling’s supposed gun represented an active threat to the officers. Instead, it shows Sterling being repeatedly shot after he was pinned on the ground.

WHERE is the person and WHO is the person that said someone was threatening anyone with a gun? why didn’t that person point out this “supposedly” dangerous person? did they make a fake call and leave? this is bull$hit!

Well we have seem to accept we live in a police state and as long as it isn’t our loved one we don’t seem to give a eff. I don’t know what I can do except continue to support my local politicians who say they will fight against police brutality, but it seems like this is out of our hands as a lone citizen. We need a community leader who will give us a voice and a way to show our legislators that they need to work hard and fast to get rid of the bad cops now.

    Heartbreaking!
Unfortunately it’s been happening for decades and is only brought to light now that everyone has cellphone cameras.

unfortunately, cell phones don’t matter when they still get away. it’s almost what’s the damn point. and at the same time, keep filming.

I remember watching five cops beat the living h*ll out of a fellow named Rodney King, but a jury told me it never happened.

I couldn’t see Sterlings hands in either of the videos. So far, there’s no way I can tell whether he was reaching for, or pulling a gun or not.
As in other cases, I think the thing to do is wait till all the information is out. After all, at this point the story was that Michael Brown was standing there, reaching for the sky, when a cop shot him in the back. That story was false.

Somehow the word needs to go out that it is stupid to resist arrest or lawful orders by the po-lice. If they tell you “hands up” then get your hands up. If they tell you to get on the ground, then get on the ground. Don’t give them any lip, either. None of that will help, it will only harm you. This in no way excuses po-lice brutality, of course.

i’m not pulling out my hair this time. i’m pulling out my tongue with vice grips, because i’m so irritated with your post.

“If they tell you “hands up” then get your hands up.” but of course, when there are not video cameras to suggest it has been done, take the “police” side. and when there is video evidence, and it’s just a candy bar or cell phone, and you’re murdered, you should still be $hit out of luck for…. something.

” If they tell you to get on the ground, then get on the ground.” if they’re sitting on your back or stomach and you are trying to position yourself to breathe, then it’s your fault if you are shot 4 times execution style. oh, and or choked to death.

“Don’t give them any lip, either.” if you have the fuckin’ audacity to run your mouth and we shoot your ass, it’s your fault if you die.

Generally, it IS stupid to resist arrest – if you’re white. This doesn’t apply to blacks and/or minorities. IMO, cops are using unnecessary deadly force with people of color and making it look like they had no choice.
