Kenny Chesney’s Saturday night Pittsburgh concert also resulted in 48 tons of garbage.

Seven people were arrested and nearly 100 needed medical attention after country singer Kenny Chesney performed in Pittsburgh last night on his Spread the Love tour.

The concert at Heinz Field drew about 40,000 people on Saturday night, 37 of whom were taken to the hospital mostly due to dehydration and intoxication, according to the city’s public safety director, the Post Gazette reported.

From midnight to 6am on Sunday, the city’s sanitation department cleared a shocking 48 tons of garbage left behind from the tailgate party, TribLive reported.

Despite all this, authorities said they were pleased with the improved circumstances compared to past events, including a 2013 Chesney concert where 73 were arrested in the city.

    Hey, I live in Arkansas, but I can tell you there are rednecks everywhere…I guess even in Pittsburgh. I’ve been out by the pool most of the day, drinking and grillin cheeseburgers and listening to Kenny Chesney, so what do I know? And 48 tons of garbage only makes me wanna listen to Alice’s Restaurant again. Good night and good luck.

    Uhhh, so the story is people get arrested or need medical treatment at stadium concerts?
    This is news?
    I was at a Stones concert when someone was shot in the parking lot.
    I was in the middle of a riot at an Iggy Pop concert in Paris.
    I saw some brawling at a Led Zep concert once.
    I seen lotsa trouble at Grateful Dead concerts – – come to think of it, this pales compared to some Dead shows I attended.
    I’m sure some great music was also played. That was the takeaway of the shows listed above.
