Donald Trump will announce his choice for running mate within the next two weeks.

Trump had been saying for weeks he was saving the announcement for the July 18-21 Cleveland convention.

But Trump aides leaked the word Friday to several media outlets that the strategy had changed and the VP nominee would be named sooner rather than later.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are among the candidates being vetted by the campaign.

    I don’t see it being Christie. Recent polls show President Obama’s approval rating among New Jersey voters is twice that of Gov. Christie. If he cannot help Trump carry the state, what good is he?

    May as well shore up some of the right wing base and choose Gingrich. If nothing else, they will go down in history as the least likeable major party ticket in history.

      I don’t know… looking at how Trump has acted throughout the campaign, it seems that either “bat-sh*t insane” or “ignorant buffoon” is the direction he’s going.

      In which case, Christie and Palin would have the top spots.
      Palin would probably be seen as too much of a threat to Trump’s limelight, so Christie seems like a pretty plausible choice for him.

    It will be done on a ‘Fox News Special ” Trump will step forward and spin the big VP wheel, that is all the technology Trump can handle , and science Fox can understand
