Texit: Texan nationals look to Brexit for inspiration
Many Texas don’t feel they’re part of the culture of the United States.
Click here for reuse options! The current body calling itself the Republic of Texas believes that Texas never actually ceded its sovereignty to the United States when it joined the union (some prefer the term annexed) in 1845. “The great deception can be undone – stay tuned,” their website states. They run a parallel system of government, with Republic of Texas identity cards and coins…
It also has advocates in the Texas Republican party, even though removing one of the biggest and most reliably red states from the US would make it far easier for the Democrats to win presidential elections.

Just think , an independent Texas, then Trump won’t build you your wall
Mike June 19th, 2016 at 20:46
But then we’d have a legitimate reason for building a wall from Louisanna to New Mexico … Back to square one

but Texas will be on the other side
RandyBastard June 19th, 2016 at 20:46
As I always like to point out whenever the rubes start squawking about Texas independence, they are totally dependent upon the American taxpayer for their ‘lifestyle’ and they would miss those sweet, sweet dollars.
Plus, without the protection of the U.S. military, I’d give it two weeks before the Mexican flag is flying over the Alamo. That’ll bust their huevos.

Never happen , Texans will never look for inspiration from a country that speaks funny , don’t carry guns and don’t BBQ everything (including road kill)

Hey, Texass, look up Civil War, 1861-1865.
This issue HAS been addressed. Didn’t go well for the plaintiffs.

You already tried this, Civil war, remember, you lost.
