Paul Ryan: We’ll sue Trump to stop him from doing what he says, if necessary

Posted by | June 17, 2016 10:58 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

It’s astounding that the Speaker of the House, who is claiming to support Donald Trump, says he’ll take him to court if he tries to enact the policies he’s running on, like banning Muslims

in an interview with the Huffington Post Thursday, Ryan floated taking a President Trump to court if he tried to implement such a ban or some of his other controversial proposals unilaterally.

“I would sue any president that exceeds his or her powers,” Ryan said in a back-and-forth about Trump’s claims that he could implement a Muslim ban or build a Mexican border wall without congressional approval.

Republicans enjoy proving they are all clowns.

I’m on the cusp of geezerdom and I can’t remember anything even remotely like this in American politics.

The Speaker of the House threatening to sue his own party’s candidate if he implements the policies Republicans enthusiastically support?

The closest is when a number of Republicans quit supporting Nixon

Perhaps they are just now reaching their peak?

      Look for more to come.

Republican leaders once again feel compelled to engage in damage-control following another round of Trump’s irrational, inflammatory remarks — welcome to the new normal.

    Lets review shall we?
The majority of the republican primary voters nominated a psychotic 4 times bankrupt, three times married, racist, misogynistic phony to run for president. No matter what he says or does, the GOP majority is fine with him as long as he walks the new GOP line, which is of course hate minorities and Muslims. Ryan assures us everything will be fine because the republican establishment will simply sue Trump to keep him from making Syria an ISIS free zone or letting S Korea have nukes. The GOP is no longer a party, it’s rather a very bad punchline.

    Fiscally conservative ?…Horsehockey !

Ryan will “take him to court” but still is willing to vote for him as the President of the United States.

Where do the repubs get these people? The funny farm?

ok…they are gonna rely on what they call “activist judges”…sheesh…maybe they are sane and the rest of us are crazy…

Only shows up to work 94 days in 2014 after taking an oath to office and now we have to believe what he says

  8. mistlesuede June 17th, 2016 at 15:43

It is hard for me to believe that Ryan is not seeking the nomination next month. He gets about the same amount of airtime as Trump by making similarly wild statements to get media attention.

Wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier if Trump was denied being the Republican nominee to start with? Better yet…have no nominee and let Hillary win by default!

Isn’t it cute how he pretends to have principles?
