Trump poll numbers in death spiral

Posted by | June 16, 2016 13:56 | Filed under: Politics

Donald Trump is tanking exactly one year after taking a down escalator to his campaign announcement.

What’s particularly devastating about this from Trump’s perspective is that his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton hasn’t gained all that much in the past three weeks — instead, it’s mostly been about Trump spiraling downward.

How bad are Trump’s poll numbers right now? This bad: None of the last seven polls released have him even cracking the 40% support barrier. In fact, the last poll that had him at 40% or higher was an Economist/YouGov poll that came out on June 5th — and even then, Trump only garnered 41% of the vote.

Trump is a master of inflammatory innuendo and he continues to propose a barrage of irrational policy stances, and the vast majority of the electorate has grown weary of listening to it.

    Something to celebrate today!

Almost, I will keep my horn blowers in my pocket till November 9th after the results come in. I am too superstitious to celebrate yet.

        with you on that…..

I’m with you Suzanne. It’s a long way to November and the stuff that’s going to be thrown out at Hillary hasn’t even started yet.

But they were talking about how she is giving town hall type speeches where she reminds Americans who she is. We loved her when she was Secretary of State (I think she had 80% approval at one point), they believe if they see her speaking in a calming tone (people hate to hear a woman scream) that she will be able to ingratiate herself to the population again.

Don’t you just love how Trump was talking about her “screaming?” Have you heard him? OMG!
That is such a sexist attack line. I do think she has gotten it down how and when to raise her voice, mostly not doing it, and letting the crowd calm down each time before she begins to talk again so that she doesn’t have to raise her voice. I remember PO yelling at the end of his campaign speeches for months over the crowd. No one mentioned that at all. Double standard much?
What was that thing Ann Richards used to say?

“After all, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels.”

I don’t mind the yelling, I have the ability to understand that she is in a coliseum and it is hard to project your voice. The republicans are looking for anything to throw dirt and she is just removing the chance for these petty arguments. She will be an amazing President IMO.

He is tanking to soon. The Republicans can still bail on him until he receives the nomination.

    • jeffconn June 16th, 2016 at 21:10

Not necessarily. In some states, the delegates are legally bound to support their candidate, at least until the 2nd ballot.

    • MIliberal June 16th, 2016 at 22:01

I can see Trump not getting enough votes on the first ballot. Then the delegates bail.

The republican party is the least diverse party to begin with.
As long as he keeps flapping his pie hole it will continue to get worse.
    Nice outreach wingnuts. ..:/

He is such a racist bigot, there are racists and bigots who claim he is just too much.

Trump called the polls showing him losing ground “fake” in Atlanta yesterday and told his rally attendees not to believe them. And, being a citizen of GA, I think most of them bought his drivel lock, stock, and barrel.

    • jeffconn June 16th, 2016 at 21:09

So what? In 2012, the Repubs didn’t believe the polls saying Rmoney had no chance to win the Presidential Election, and he still lost.

    • Obewon June 16th, 2016 at 21:14

All polls show HRC winning! Even outliers and 24th least accurate RASMUSSEN & RNC’s Gallup! 2016~ delivers the sixth GOP popular POTUS vote losses, of the past 7 presidential elections. (☯‿☯) http://www.pollingreport.com/wh16gen.htm

How low , his next press conference will be in the sub-basement of the Trump Tower

  9. The Original Just Me June 17th, 2016 at 00:32

Trump’s next Rally will be in the Alley next to the Dumpster with some of the stray cats listening.

The phrase “auger into the ground” sounds very nice right now.
