Ex-wife says he ‘tortured’ her, didn’t act like ‘normal straight men’
The ex-wife of the Orlando shooter, Sitoria Yusufiy, opened up about her abusive relationship on CNN.

Definitely physical violence,” and recounted a tale of physical and psychological abuse at a supermarket. “We would go in and he would go into a certain aisle to look for something and I would go into a different aisle to look for something else and, all of a sudden, I would hear my name being yelled out,” she said. “He would be calling my name throughout the supermarket and I would — I came to him saying, ‘I’m right here.’ He grabbed my wrist and he dug his fingernails in between my veins and made me surrender and told me to not go far from him ever again.”
…The interview also covered questions that have been raised about Mateen’s sexuality in the wake of reports he used gay dating apps and frequented gay nightclubs for years. “I definitely questioned it in my own head when I was with him and wondered if he is (gay) because he would do a lot of things — little things, you know, but that would definitely make any woman question if he was or not,” Yusufiy said.
When pressed, she told Lemon, “I can’t really explain it. It was the way he would behave that normal straight men wouldn’t and he was very — he loved to look at himself. He loved to take pictures of himself which some straight men do, too, but to a certain extent.”

Good for her for getting out of that marriage.
Obviously, many battered spouses don’t.
And I wonder about his current wife and her helping him. I expect that she will have been psychologically manipulated by him.

The fact is Mateen is a murderous terrorist. There is evidence that he practiced alternative life styles that his wife and dad was not aware of.

I am certain this won’t be a popular theory but here goes. According to all reports, when he was young (high school) he was very quiet and had trouble with socially engaging. By college he had grown socially and a a number of gay friends. It wasn’t until he reached his early/mid 20’s that he began to change and experience issues. This is the same age that mental health issues present. I am not saying I’m sure this is what happened, but most certainly it should be considered.

I think most suicide bombers aren’t much different than this guy.
I used to live where suicide bombers were common so I was a little obsessed about who the hell these people were.
Many, I’m convinced, are mentally ill.
The terrorists are good at identifying these guys and quickly recruiting them.
