“We went to a few gay bars with him, and I was not out at the time, so I declined his offer,” said the former classmate said, who asked that his name not be used.
The man told the Palm Beach Post that he believed Mateen was gay, but not open about it.
“He just wanted to fit in and no one liked him,” he said. “He was always socially awkward.”

Self-loathing, religious guilt, and anger over prior rejection may have been the primary motivators for his actions, but that will not play well in Trump’s efforts to cast blame on all Muslims, so don’t expect him to address this new information in his daily barrage of Islamophobic speeches.

Also, Mateen’s father had a part in making Mateen into that self loathing angry monster. His father is a huge gay hater that invokes God and Gods wrath. Although Mateen did the killing, I hold both equally responsible.
