Pastor calls Orlando massacre ‘good news’

Posted by | June 13, 2016 07:22 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Religion

Pastor Steven Anderson says the Orlando massacre is “good news” because gays are “disgusting perverts.”

In a twisted video recently uploaded to YouTube, Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church argues that the mass shooting that left at least 50 dead and scores more wounded at a gay nightclub in Florida is “good news” because “homosexuals are a bunch of disgusting perverts.”

In his hateful rant Pastor Anderson says he is “not sad,” and says he is “not gonna cry” about the horrific massacre, because the victims were just “disgusting homosexuals at a gay bar.”

Seems to me the pervert is anyone who considers 50 innocent people getting killed to be good news.

    • clemans June 13th, 2016 at 09:07

doesn’t sound like the guy spent much time reading the Bible…..but then he may just not be good at reading comprehension. If he believes in god then he has to know he is going to hell.

      • Larry Schmitt June 13th, 2016 at 09:19

This kind of “Christian” twist what they find in the bible to agree with what they already believe, and discard anything that doesn’t coincide with their beliefs. Same thing that radical Muslims do. Neither is representative of the religion they claim to believe in.

        • clemans June 13th, 2016 at 09:24

they really aren’t Christians or Muslims……but atheists, just the bad kind.

          • granpa.usthai June 13th, 2016 at 13:08

            not atheists.

they have a ‘supreme’ unknown and unseen power they believe in and worship.

just like Jesus said: “John 8:44”

            • clemans June 13th, 2016 at 15:31

I very much disagree, what they do is contrary to what the Bible teaches. If they believe they couldn’t lie, cheat, or abuse people…..and they do it frequently and cheer.

    • granpa.usthai June 13th, 2016 at 13:05

especially 50 INNOCENT Americans in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA who were only gathering in a spirit of friendship and festivities.

something REAL AMERICANS will NEVER be able to do with the ‘Khristian Krowd’ or trump’s Klan, ever again.

      WE are the people

they are the enemies of THE PEOPLE

just look at the loathing they voice against our laws that ensure EQUAL RIGHTS for ALL US Citizens in The United States of America.

  2. Larry Schmitt June 13th, 2016 at 07:32

Another ignorant asshole who equates homosexuality with pedophilia.

  3. Chris June 13th, 2016 at 07:36

So much for spreading the love of Christ.

i am not at all surprised by this pos view. many on the [r]ight are happy about it and will pretend that they are upset because islam. even though this had nothing to do with religion but, outright bigotry, of which the [r]ight seems to spread daily regarding gays.

    • clemans June 13th, 2016 at 09:04

between this guy cheering, and the comment made by the Lt Gov of Texas….then Trump’s glee over this event, I would say you have ample support for believing that…..these people are the disgusting ones.

    • crc3 June 13th, 2016 at 11:23

I think the shooter had more than just one issue. His love of ISIS and guns plus such a fine upstanding father that fueled his hate of gays. He was evil to the core. Just read what people who knew him had to say (former wife…co-workers…etc)…

      • whatthe46 June 13th, 2016 at 12:05

The so called “Christian’s” have more than one issue praising this crap.

      • granpa.usthai June 13th, 2016 at 12:58

        ‘everything he said was toxic’

        butt

the exact same thing can be said of the trump Klan also…

  6. rostee67 June 13th, 2016 at 10:01

This pastor, (Steven Anderson), the Lt Gov of Texas and all Trump republicans need to take a comfort break, because as usual their republican mouths are still full of their “Conservative Crap”!

  7. labman57 June 13th, 2016 at 10:09

Remember, applauding a crazed gunman for causing mass casualties in the gay community is the Christian thing to do.

    • Stew Too June 14th, 2016 at 12:35

No, that is NOT the Christian thing to do.

  8. robert June 13th, 2016 at 11:03

  9. crc3 June 13th, 2016 at 11:15

Another moronic Bible beater. I’m waiting for Pat Robertson to make a similar comment…

  10. Leannie June 13th, 2016 at 11:34

Being from an evangelical background I often punish myself by listening to sermons from my evangelical friends titled “How should Christians respond to _____”, (fill in the blank, ie homosexuals, SOCTUS decision on marriage, etc).

Not once however have I head a sermon on how Christians should respond to idiots like Steven Anderson.

  11. Foundryman June 13th, 2016 at 12:15

This should help those people who have been sitting on the fence in deciding to break ties with the christian religion.

if there’s any doubt left in anyone’s mind as to which ‘religion’ openly promotes acts of terror against US Citizens in The United States of America, ?

let them reap what they sow.

    I rest my case

    KEEP AMERICA GREAT

BAN ALL “CHRISTIAN” CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND OTHER FACILITIES THAT SUPPORT ACTS OF TERROR ON US CITIZENS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

ARREST AND IMPRISON ALL WHO VIOLATE THE LAWS AND ENCOURAGE AID AND ABET ACTS OF TERROR ON US CITIZENS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

    • Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 20:20

      You, sir, are an idiot.

  13. Kick Frenzy June 13th, 2016 at 13:37

    Dear Pastor Steven Anderson,
    You are not a Christian.
If anything, you are doing the devil’s work.

    Sincerely,
    Kick

  14. Bunya June 13th, 2016 at 14:03

I guess if anybody is qualified to pass judgment on others, it would be disgusting perverts like this Steve Anderson guy. And I will admit I won’t be sad and I won’t cry when Satan comes to call him home.

  15. Richard Banville June 13th, 2016 at 14:17

Where’s burqa with his predictable rant that we’re being unfair and bigoted against Christians because we condemn evil “pastors” like this sick creep.

  16. Charlie Seivard June 13th, 2016 at 15:15

A “pastor”? No. Maybe a pasture. Think about it.

    • bpollen June 13th, 2016 at 16:00

I’d be happy to rustle up some cows with the pies for that pasture.

  17. amersham46 June 13th, 2016 at 15:38

It almost sounds like he is endorsing domestic terrorism

  18. bpollen June 13th, 2016 at 15:58

Pastor Anderson says he is “not sad,” and says he is “not gonna cry”

Another thing Pastor Anderson is not – a Christian.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.
    Love thy neighbor as thyself.
    — in that bible thing

  19. Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 20:16

True Christians do not believe like this “pastor” does. Nor do true Christians celebrate any such blatant act of terrorism.

Yes, there are plenty of people out there that call themselves Christians that are really the furthest thing from really being one.

    • Obewon June 13th, 2016 at 20:32

Conservative Christians do misbelieve exactly like this “pastor” pontificates.

      • Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 20:37

This Christian and the ones I personally know do not believe like this so called pastor does. Anyone who does is sadly mislead.

        • Obewon June 13th, 2016 at 20:43

If you are a “Fundamentalist” then you’re well proven as ignorant, via buying into the removal of any of the first person Gnostic gospels e.g. ‘The Book of Mary’, etc http://www.britannica.com/event/Council-of-Nicaea-Christianity-325

          • Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 21:24

You may believe anything you want to. That is your choice. I believe every word in the Bible. If other books are not with or included in the Bible, there certainly is a reason for it. I’m certainly not requiring you to believe the way I do, don’t ask me to go along with what you have to say. It just won’t happen.

However, Jesus did die on the cross He was crucified on. This fact is very well documented throughout the past two thousand years. He died for me and you. Like it or not, that’s the way it is.

            Good night.

            • Obewon June 13th, 2016 at 21:41

Your oldest Bible is linked above, and may now online. Fundamentalists e.g. ” I believe every word in the Bible.” Are so easily debunked it’s hilarious!
The bible via biblical dating says ‘the (4.5 B/Yr old) Earth and (13.8 B/Yr old) universe were both born on “Sunday October 23, 4004 B.C.”+/- 1 year!’-Arch Bishop Ussher https://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/ussher.htm The last time Earth was flooded by the teeny tiny amount of all water on, below and above Earth was 2.8 Billion years ago… http://water.usgs.gov/edu/gallery/global-water-volume.html

Here’s what you posted 2 years ago. Prophetic or pathetic. On: Tea Party Update. Did this Move Solidify Ben Carson’s 2016 Presidential Bid? “I’d support Ben Carson in a New York second. Carson is a great man and would make an excellent POTUS.”-Pathetic and inept. Bye!

                    • Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 22:02

I know exactly what I said. I haven’t changed my mind either. I did support Ben Carson right up to the point he dropped out of the Presidential race. I still think he’d make a great President, far better than Hillary, Trump or Bernie.

Let he who has no sin cast the first stone.

                    • Stew Too June 13th, 2016 at 22:21

Ben Carson was already out of the race when the Primaries came to Southern Illinois.

My church is good with the gays.

Fundamentalist accuse us liberal Christians of not being Christian.

But I would ague that we are more Christ-like than they are. And the Bible backs me up.

      • whatthe46 June 13th, 2016 at 22:28

Atheist are more “christian-like” than those so-called “christian” assholes.
