Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is getting backlash for his post-mass shooting tweet.

At precisely 7 a.m. Sunday Dan Patrick tweeted a photo with the words of Galatians 6:7. The verse reads, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

The Twitterverse circled the tweet, commenting that it was inappropriate and insensitive considering the context of the day’s events. The Texas Democratic Party called for Patrick to apologize.

So it’s their fault they got killed, because they’re gay. I get it. How do people like this get into responsible positions?

because lazy ass democrats and independents don’t go vote in every election would be my guess

They get into those positions because there are a lot of people that feel like him, thus, they vote them in. There are a lot of people that feel like God will punish you, by allowing tragedy to happen in your life. That is the reason, I am fearful of religion. I’d rather strive to be a decent and generous person and let my deeds speak for themselves. However, that is just me.

    • Larry Schmitt June 12th, 2016 at 13:12

In Texas? I’m not so sure about that.

      • katkelly57 June 12th, 2016 at 13:16

Karma will eventually bite him on the ass.

I think he is insensitive certainly…..however he is correct and shouldn’t be blasted for being right….when our society allows unlimited types of weapons, unlicensed too, and for people to have as many weapons as they want…..when the NRA is allowed to push for guns in every corner of the nation EXCEPT FOR THE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION AND in WASHINGTON DC FEDERAL BUILDINGS, this is going to happen.

Jesus didn’t go around preaching peace and helping the poor while carrying weapons…….we lose more than one toddler or young child per week due to guns…..we get hate, politicians standing up in public talking about bullseyes while holding weapons……yes, we are reaping what the NRA and the GOP sow.

Christian conservatives are torn between using the horrific actions of a “lone wolf” as a means of condemning an entire religion … and applauding his actions for targeting a gathering of gays.

Go figure, he was just dumb enough to get caught doing what a lot of his ilk want to say and do.

Anything to avoid confronting the dreaded “gun” issue… It’s GAWD that’s doing it!

EXACTLY what I’ve been saying about the ‘religious christian zealots’ that believe they are EXEMPT from the Law when selecting the parts of their ‘religious beliefs’ they wish to uphold for the moment.

One fatass overly fed Kentucky 4X Adulteress Clerk comes to mind.

Maybe someone pointed out that hate is the whirlwind that speak results to those who hate.
