Co-worker says he was ‘unhinged’ ‘homophobic’ ‘talked of killing people’
Omar Mateen’s former co-worker is an ex-Fort Pierce police officer.
Click here for reuse options!Daniel Gilroy said he worked the 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift with G4S Security at the south gate at PGA Village for several months in 2014-15. Mateen took over from him for a 3 to 11 p.m. shift.
Gilroy, a former Fort Pierce police officer, said Mateen frequently made homophobic and racial comments. Gilroy said he complained to his employer several times but it did nothing because he was Muslim. Gilroy quit after he said Mateen began stalking him via multiple text messages — 20 or 30 a day. He also sent Gilroy 13 to 15 phone messages a day, he said.
“I quit because everything he said was toxic,” Gilroy said Sunday, “and the company wouldn’t do anything. This guy was unhinged and unstable. He talked of killing people.”

it’s why I encourage Americans to keep and bear Nuclear Arms – which the 2nd amendment clearly gives US the right to do, and it shall not be infringed upon.
NRA sponsored arms kill tens of thousands of Americans yearly.
Nuclear Arms (a most formidable self defense weapon) has killed none.

The Second Amendment clearly and simply gives people the Right Own and Bear arms. It does NOT give anyone a License to KILL other Human Beings. A gun used to kill People is the Method. It is Not the Motive. We need to look and Listen to those who are Expounding about Hate and Anger in ALL forms, including Religion. Racism, Politics, and just Plain Prejudices. Those People who will KILL Others using ANY means possible are Identifying themselves. Don’t Ignore them.

Lot of truth to what you say…It’s virtually every single incident … but I don’t think race matters much per se.
The psychiatrist treating the Aurora jackass could have notified authorities but didn’t for fear of breaking the law herself.
Adam Lanza’s mother, neighbors, school officials, local police, etc., knew he was nutz, but did everything they could to not get involved.
Dylan Roof’s father knew his son was unbalanced yet helped him purchase a weapon because he didn’t want to damage their relationship
Jared Loughner was a text book psycho on everybody’s radar and is routinely ignored..
Jeffery Dahlmer’s neighbors called the cops 20 times and when they showed up once, helped him take his “drunk boyfriend” up stairs where Jeff slipped him into a barrel of acid…Pro gay cops..??? Pro white…??? Fk no, they just didn’t want to be involved.
It kinda hard to think of a crazy shooter case that didn’t raise a hundred red flags in hindsight…

There is a way to prevent the unbalanced from obtaining weapons.
But it means everyone facing some hard truths, and starting to judge on actions.
What it requires is a way to identify, the courage to say something, and a judicial process to protect the rights of those accused.

Given this statement, from someone who worked briefly with Mateen, the words the ex-wife of Mateen, and several FBI interviews with him, how did the SECURITY Firm hire him, give him a gun, and employ him for years?????
And then, of course, he went out and bought two guns for his “personal” use just days before the carnage…
