    Poor Donnie. He doesn’t know that much of the southern U.S. was Spanish first. Florida,Texas, California even Colorado and Kansas. So being “Spanish” could really mean being 12th generation American.

    Trump seems really old.

    (And I’m no spring chicken, myself.)

    My grandfather’s generation spoke about race like Trump does. And they are all long-dead. His generation was best parodied by the Archie Bunker character.

    I remember his calling Mexicans or even Mexican-Americans “Spanish.”

    I think it was his attempt to not use the term “Spic” since we often scolded him when he used derogatory names.
