Study: More Americans having gay sex

Either that, or more are now admitting to it.

“People over time are reporting more same-sex sexual experiences than ever before,” said Brooke Wells, a social psychologist at Widener University’s Center for Human Sexuality Studies.

The behavioral trend, reflected in an annual survey conducted between 1973 and 2014, was fueled largely by people who had sex with both men and women. There has been little change in the number of people reporting exclusively homosexual behavior…

The number of U.S. adults who said they had at least one same-sex sexual partner doubled between the early 1990s – that question wasn’t asked earlier – and the early 2010s, from 3.6 to 8.7 percent for women and from 4.5 to 8.2 percent for men. Bisexual behavior rose from 3.1 to 7.7 percent, accounting for most of the change.

ok then…does that mean there will be less of a need for contraception, abortion and Planned Parenthood? Hmmm…

Ewwww Gross!!! And that’s exactly how I know (a) I was not born gay, and (b) homosexuality isn’t something you choose, and (c) you can’t “cure” homosexuality; it’s something you’re born with.

Based on the report it seems that bisexuality is on the rise. Is bisexuality considered to be genetic as well or is this a chosen behavior?

Is bisexuality considered to be genetic as well or is this a chosen behavior?

I suppose one could argue ‘behavior’ is always a choice. Orientation on the otherhand… I know I could not ‘choose’ to be sexually attracted to men, is my orientation genetic or not? Who knows? Who cares?

I like Brasileiras, is a preference for Brasileiras genetic? Maybe. Could I choose not to be attracted to Brasileiras, whether genetic or not?

        Não senhor.

I almost erased the word “behavior” but was stuck for the word i really meant which as you point out is “orientation.” Brain lock on my part I guess.

I wouldn’t say that “more Americans are having gay sex”. It’s just that now it’s safer for people who are gay to be open about it and not fear about retaliation as much. So of course, it would seem “more Americans are having gay sex.”

“A total of 33,728 people answered the survey over the 41-year period.”

    When you’re with the Flintstones
you’ll have a yabba dabba doo time
    a dabba doo time
You’ll have a gay old time.
