GOP official compares Obama to chimpanzee; party blames liberal hackers

Even though the official admitted it.

The photo briefly appeared on a Facebook page belonging to Linda Sorenson, who chairs the county Republican Central Committee, and was captured by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

According to the Daily Sentinel, Sorenson did not deny posting the image, calling it a joke and adding, “I really don’t care if people are offended by it.”

But her fellow committee members have since contradicted Sorenson’s account, blaming outside forces for the image going online. The group’s treasurer, Sue Whittlesey, went so far as to blame the progressive blog Media Matters.

“They’ve been harassing her the last few weeks,” Whittlesey said.

Committee vice chair Vic Ullrey insisted that Sorenson was not a racist.

“This whole thing is a hoax,” he said. “Someone got into the Facebook somehow. It was hacked and somebody got into it, definitely.”

It continues to amaze me that they think most of us share their views of the world.

Racist don’t know they’re racists. She probably doesn’t even begin to understand what the problem is.

She is the Party Chair…Ignorance is not a virtue, but necessary to be a republican…

      • Mensa Member May 31st, 2016 at 09:53

She could be a “soft racist” — you know, the Paula Deen type.

The kind of racist who can be nice to individual blacks but doesn’t understand why a plantation-themed wedding with black waiters might be offensive.

        • Budda May 31st, 2016 at 11:41

a “soft racist’…I like that description. Still racist though.

there is a large portion of the folks who live here that think that way…There is a population of older, wealthy white folks who are extremely bigoted…The other day, while I was enjoying a cup o’ joe, I overheard a “blue hair” conversation…I mean these two guys are considered “elders” of one of the local churches, yet they were talking about the N***** Obama this and the N***** Obama that…I wanted to break their freaking hips…there are very few black folks living here…we have a large Hispanic population, that is growing…they are scared of the others…This is the Republican Party in Delta County Colorado…they are bigots…we do have a virulent strain of Libertarians around here as well…but they seem harmless right now…

      • Jack E Raynbeau May 31st, 2016 at 10:23

Would that be the same church that sends 18 year old “elders” door to door selling a stairway to heaven?

Amazing they had no concern if they were offending you. I encountered a couple of those types when I lived in Florida, I have a b!tch face that burns and they realized quickly that I was offended by their way of speaking and I would like to believe they learned that just because I have white skin does not mean I assimilate to racists.

    • whatthe46 May 31st, 2016 at 08:59

funny thing also is that they think everyone who is a friend on FB shares their views as well. there have been times when “friends” have taken snapshots of their post and out them.

She seems nice. ;o( I went to her FB last week when I initially read this and she had already taken it down.

    • whatthe46 May 31st, 2016 at 08:58

she’s proud of what she said and doesn’t give a rats ass if it offends anyone and yet takes it down. um, yeah.

They could at least get on the same page.
Either lie and deny, or admit that it was intentional.
Makes it too hard for their low IQ supporters to know which way to go.

  4. whatthe46 May 31st, 2016 at 08:56

there’s that party of NO responsibility once again rearing its ugly head. they can’t even lie right.

One of the more famous landmarks in Delta County…This is the “Black Bridge”…it is at the bottom of my road to town…over the North Fork of the Gunnison…one of two river crossings in my area…It was shipped to France at the end of WWII…it wasn’t needed, and shipped back to the States, to where they were needed…Delta County had two of this type of bridge…
so, when you think about Delta, instead of thinking about the Ugliness of the gop…think about the Beauty of Delta County instead…

Most of the time when I head south I wind up somewhere between Moab and Hanksville. I keep telling myself that one day I’m going to see the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

      • Buford2k11 May 31st, 2016 at 11:01

head a little more to the east and you will find us…I don’t have any good photos of Black Canyon…My friend and pilot died a few weeks ago…of the flu…and we were planning a session this spring…I have flown over the canyon many times, and I never had a good camera until now…this whole area is incredibly beautiful…

“Pay no attention to the spontaneous, unrepentant admission of guilt behind the curtain!”

    • Mensa Member May 31st, 2016 at 09:42

I know. Why do conservatives find apologizing so impossible?

Just last week, when Obama was in Japan, conservatives were hysterical that he might say sorry for nuking two of their cities.

      • Jack E Raynbeau May 31st, 2016 at 10:31

Might? They insist that he did apologize. There is no reasoning with them.

  7. Mensa Member May 31st, 2016 at 09:35

For how many decades did Republicans lecture us about personal responsibility?

  8. Obewon May 31st, 2016 at 09:39

The 28% of voters remaining registered Republicans, like their Central Committee chair have no idea why POTUS Obama bested GOP with 53% of the popular vote, plus 2:1 (D) 365 to 173-Mc’Palin-47%, and 3:2 (D) 332 to 206-Mitt’nRyan-47%

    • Mensa Member May 31st, 2016 at 09:47

Conservatives live in a bubble where everyone is convinced that Obama is a terrorist aiding, covert-Muslim, Marxist, gun-grabbing Nazi with an agenda to destroy America.

So, they think his wins must be voter fraud

  9. William May 31st, 2016 at 09:52

Yes by all means lets compare Reagan to Obama. Shall we start here and work our way backwards?
