Arresting officer acquitted in Freddie Gray Case

Edward Nero was found not guilty on all counts.

Nero faced second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of misconduct in office.

Nero waived his right to a trial by jury…

Gray, a 25-year-old black man from the Sandtown area of Baltimore, died on April 19, 2015 of a spinal cord injury he sustained while in police custody…

Nero is one of six officers who was charged in relation to Gray’s death, and the second to be tried. Officer William Porter’s trial ended in a hung jury and mistrial in December.

“I think to convict a police officer it requires very strong evidence,” University of Maryland Law Professor Doug Colbert told WJZ outside the courthouse Monday. “Proof beyond a reasonable doubt is protection for every accused person, but there have been so few successful prosecutions of police officers … so it’s going to take a lot of evidence that an officer should be held criminally responsible.”

If a driver doesn’t put his seatbelt on before driving it’s a major violation, It’s acquittal / life goes on if your hand cuffed by a cop who could care less if you live or die. 2 DMV definitions anyone ?

the guy was okay when the put him in the wagon . but none of these cops are gonna have the courage to admit he was left intentionally without safety belts in place. the cowards were out to punish him . hope some serious karma kicks in

He was alive, but was obviously in terrible pain when they threw him in the wagon.

Did you see the film? Apparently not, because If you did, you will PLAINLY SEE that he was CLEARLY INJURIED, when they threw him in wagon.

Someone eventually will be the fall guy to appease the rabble. Sad that criminals can ruin policeman’s lives by just doing their jobs.

What was Freddie’s crime? Looking at a police thug?
