They say people learn from their mistakes, so perhaps A.B. Culvahouse Jr. learned from his. The 67-year-old Washington insider — who helped vet Sarah Palin before she became Republican presidential nominee John McCain’s running mate in 2008 — will now head the team that will screen vice presidential candidates for presumptive 2016 GOP nominee Donald Trump.…

His entire campaign has been run on the idea of “if it is the worst choice, lets do it”, so then sarah will have to be the VP, right?

A perfect match. The worst possible VP with the worst possible prez. Not good for the country, but great entertainment.

when one is flipping, the other one will be flopping – I’m with you on the entertainment part, and of course there would always be _____________ to blame for their unbelievable tremendous huuuge failures!

        • Larry Schmitt May 19th, 2016 at 07:54

Yup, whoever it is, it would be someone else’s fault. That’s the one thing we could be sure of.

You know they would blame it on Obama somehow: maybe he’s sending negative thought waves so powerful that not even Trump’s helmet hair can deflect them.

I have thought a lot about the Trump thing and I honestly believe that the corporate right wing media has elevated him to where he is purely because of the ratings boost from their non-stop coverage of every fart he’s made. The only coverage Hillary gets is all negative to the point of absurdity. They want this man in our WH for their own selfish reasons. They want the revenue they think they will have pouring in because of the ratings they will have for the next four years of insanity.
This should scare the crap out of people.

        • Larry Schmitt May 19th, 2016 at 10:02

I’m not sure they’re thinking that far ahead, or if it’s just the current ratings. It definitely gives them a boost now, similar to watching the aftermath of a hurricane or a plane crash. In other words, a disaster.

I’m positive they are. They want the revenue stream and eyeballs. That’s what it is all about. Infotainment does not care about anything else.
The Washington Post has put together a team of about 20-25 people to research everything about Trump. They are one of our only lifelines at this point.

            • Larry Schmitt May 19th, 2016 at 10:10

And every time the Post writes another story on him, the comments show a bunch of complaints about another “hit piece.” Considering the subject, what else can you write about him? Everything they dig up is negative.

And talk about a teflon person. In a normal year this creep would have been toast. How it has gotten this far is only explainable by pure hate of Obama, and Clinton.

I wonder if they can find someone as horribly equipped as Sarah to be the Dumpsters running mate.

    • 17 May 19th, 2016 at 14:03

Lara Ingraham, Pamela Geller, or Ann Coulter not available?

  3. granpa.usthai May 19th, 2016 at 07:47

to chose a running mate that will contribute to baby don don’s charms?

anybody know how to get in touch with Tom Cruise for this assignment?

    • jcdevildog May 19th, 2016 at 10:46

Think the Scientologists will let Tom out for the campaign? Imagine the prestige (snort) it would add for both them and Trumpf!…..not to mention the signs/stickersT-shirts that could be sold: “I’m with Crazy”, “Sorry, Sarah Palin wasn’t available”…and that’s just a drop in the polls, er, bucket.

I thought I read that hoooorrrrriiible person Corey Lewandowski was in charge of finding the VP?

  5. Tommie May 19th, 2016 at 09:55

I had the same reaction as that picture of Sarah Palin, hahaha!

  6. William May 19th, 2016 at 10:16

“The vetting of Sarah Palin was no less rigorous, just compressed”

    • oldfart May 19th, 2016 at 11:25

Waving cash in front of her face would have been just as effective.

  7. jcdevildog May 19th, 2016 at 10:40

“I want a girl–no, no, not a girl–I want a guy just like the girl who scuttled John McCain”: (can be sung to the tune of “I Want a Girl Just Like the Girl Who Married Dear Old Dad”, with an aside–same melody as “I want a girl”–for the “no, no” part.

  8. Jodie May 19th, 2016 at 11:05

So, Trump wants the same person that let Sarah Palin get through the vetting process to help pick his VP? Sarah Palin is so ignorant, it’s funny. If the movie Game Changer is at all truthful about the events behind the scenes on the campaign trail, she’s just plain stubborn and stupid.

    McCain obviously isn’t saying anything

    • oldfart May 19th, 2016 at 11:28

      Give the guy a break,
He’s too busy trying to remember how many homes he has, where they are and which one he’s supposed to be in right now. ;)

The important thing is,the Whitehouse wasn’t one of them
