Man goes armed to job interview; accidentally shoots himself

Posted by | May 7, 2016 14:23 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly

One Florida man had a very bad job interview. For some reason, the man decided to go armed during a job interview at Oscar Patterson Elementary School in Panama City and that didn’t work out too well for him at all. In fact, he shot himself during the interview. WJHG reports: Officers said during a press…

I presume he didn’t get the job?

i wouldn’t bet on it ………………………..Florida, rick scott, etc.

      • Larry Schmitt May 7th, 2016 at 14:50

But I think even if he didn’t have the gun, his natural stupidity would come through and he wouldn’t have got the job. And when you shoot yourself through stupidity, that should not be called an accident.

I used to work highly-dangerous heavy construction jobs. There were literally constant and endless ways to die.

With a big crew, there was always an “accident waiting to happen guy” who nobody wanted to partner with. You were risking your own life by just being near him.

I view gun owners like that. Your life expectancy goes down by just being near them.

It’s worse than “accident waiting to happen guy” because they don’t have to be close to you, just within range.

Florida is a “Stand Your Ground” state, right?

Ironic. He may not be standing for awhile.

In his defense I’m pretty sure it’s FL state law that anyone with an IQ lower than 75 be automatically issued a firearm with a CCP…
How else could we be free from tyranny…???

WTF does his being a part-time correction officer have to do with it? They issue prison and jail guards .22s these days?

Apparently they don’t train them in safety handling when they issue the guns.

      Who knew?

      • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 15:24

It does seem in keeping with some of the other glaring errors in training in the law enforcement community.

    • clemans May 11th, 2016 at 13:10

to me it shows that even some people who are trained in weapons, are still too stupid to have them. But at least he only shot his knee……one year 6 men shot their own penis……one in a smaller southern community did so with his girlfriend’s pink gun. I often wonder if he has a good time down at the local on a Sat night.

AMMOSEXUALS AND GUNSTERBATORS ARE THE MOST STUPID PEOPLE IN THE NATION. NORMAL PEOPLE ARE NOT SO PARANOID THST THEY MUST HAVE A GUN TO FEEL SAFE: LIKE LITTLE KIDS AFRAID OF THE BOOGYMAN. PUT ALL THEM ON AN ISLAND AND LET THEM SHOOT IT OUT TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY, BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE 2/3 OF THE COUNTRY WHO DO NOT OWN A GUN.

  7. Kelly Basden May 9th, 2016 at 09:48

“Accidental shooting?” There is no such thing. “Irresponsible handling of a deadly weapon?” Yeah, I’ll take that.

    • clemans May 11th, 2016 at 13:07

what also needs pointing out, that the more guns there are the safer we will be, and the better able we are to defend ourselves……..unless of course we are republicans at a republican convention, THEN we need to ban open carry and concealed carry.

That has to tell at some level both the GOP and the NRA (who are not mounting a campaign to force them to go to a venue that will allow guns) accept that we are not safer with more guns.

It also has to say the GOP know how unloved their policies are

      • Kelly Basden May 12th, 2016 at 09:09

I have NEVER looked at a person with a gun and thought, “That person looks safe.” Quite the opposite.
A gun sitting stationary on a table gives me no apprehension.
As soon as it is in someone’s hand, that changes completely.
Yes, we are NOT safer with more guns. Guns are why we are not safer.

        • clemans May 12th, 2016 at 09:33

Kelly, please read all of the post, in context……I don’t think you understand what it really says.

          • Kelly Basden May 12th, 2016 at 12:07

I read it three days ago, and just now. I saw no account of gun use in a safe manner. When one shoots into the air, the bullet eventually hits the earth, and possibly, anything above ground level. Not safe.

The guy shoots himself in the knee. Not a brilliant “responsible” gun owner. Not safe.

Please share what I may have missed.

Maybe you missed that I did not, from the start, comment on the article. I stated my own opinion.

                • clemans May 23rd, 2016 at 13:47

didn’t miss it at all, I posted my opinion too, which seems to have been the same one you were making, then it seemed as if you didn’t understand that I was trying to agree with you….and now it is a much bigger issue than it ever had to be.

                  • Kelly Basden May 23rd, 2016 at 13:58

I see. Your first sentence, which was not capitalized and threw me off the sarcasm, was exactly that. Sarcasm.
I have no intention of arguing on the internet, so, I’m out.

                    We seem to agree.

                    • clemans May 23rd, 2016 at 15:29

that is okay, blame me for you not reading the post. my shoulders are strong, I can handle it……but I wasn’t trying to argue, I didn’t see that we should have anything to argue about. And I am not sure why you wanted to drag something so simple out like this.
