Another rat trying to figure out how to avoid being trapped on the sinking ship that he helped build.

The sitting Speaker of the House (2nd in line for the Presidency behind the VP) is not yet “there” enough to endorse the Presidential nominee of his own party.

Has anything like this ever happened since the Capitol building was first upgraded to indoor plumbing? I am kind of speechless….

never that i know of. i just got home and saw the headline. it’s almost surreal. it’s reminding me of the movie “Network” even though that storyline was quite different .

I keep thinking it’s all a bad acid flashback and it requires significant effort to believe otherwise….

      Yes, somewhat similar.
Back in the day President John Tyler was kicked out of the Whig party after he vetoed a bill to bring back the national bank. Later, his former party tried to impeach him when he vetoed a bill on tariffs.
I’m not sure of the state of the plumbing in the Capitol building at that time.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/05/05/speaker-ryan-says-not-ready-to-support-trump.html

    one example:

Why Ryan will not support Trump: Ryan open borders Trump close borders, Ryan Amnesty, Trump send home all illegals, Ryan supported bringing in Syrian Refugees, Trump said no, Ryan TPP and NAFTA supporter, Trump America Jobs first. Ryan owned by Mitt Romney and Lobbyist, Trump own by no one. Ryan is a Traitor Trump is a Patriot, now go vote Trump

There is an old saying that life imitates art. This is living proof. There is a definite theme this year of traditional allies fighting each other. We have blockbuster movies with that theme.

      Superman vs Batman
Captain America Civil War – Avenger vs Avenger

And now in the real life GOP we have Wingnut vs Wingnut

Popcorn is entirely appropriate after all..

trump america jobs first doesn’t apply to ANY of the trump signature collection products, as is evidenced by their country of origin tags.

brave sorefoot baby don don is every bit as much a fair weather patriot as stinkie pants nugent.

    Good for Paul Ryan.
The BBC has been referring to Trump’s success as a “hostile takeover of the Republican Party” and that’s just what it is.

Color me cynical but I think he’s just waiting for his offer

Serious Republicans want a serious politician as their nominee for POTUS, not a bombastic, bellicose blowhard with bad hair.

    • Mensa Member May 6th, 2016 at 00:58

      >> Serious Republicans want a serious politician as their nominee

The serious Republicans left the party long ago.

    >> Paul Ryan ‘not ready’ to endorse Trump

    “not ready” ?!?

If Paul Ryan has a shred of morality, civility or patriotism, he wouldn’t waffle. He’d unequivocally condemn Trump.

Have you already forgot that this is previous republican presidential candidate loser Paul “Lying” Ryan (R) and who was once voted the “Biggest Brown Noser” from his own classmates (The Daily Beast) which speaks volumes about Paul “Lying” Ryan (R).

Based on prior actions by the Eddie Munster stand-in, I would say that it will be at least 2024 before he’ll be ready… soon.

  11. Frank Foster May 6th, 2016 at 05:53

I guess he’s not ready to pucker up…the ReTrumplikin Convention will be a love fest of sickening proportion….
