Stones ask Trump to stop playing thier songs

The Rolling Stones have asked Donald Trump to stop playing their songs at his events.

The iconic band provided a statement today that said, according to Time, “The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.”

The Stones are not the first musicians who have requested Trump stop using their songs at his events––Steven Tyler objected to Trumpplaying “Dream On,” Adele said Trump doesn’t have permission to play her songs, and Neil Young took issue with Trump using “Rockin’ in the Free World” at his 2016 announcement.

Now, it’s pretty clear the Stones aren’t fans of Trump’s. Mick Jagger joked about his great walland Keith Richards said that while Trump would be “refreshing,” the thought of President Trump would be “the worst nightmare.”

Cease and desist. Oh! And by the way TrumpU donors owe the boys $12,149,834 in royalties. http://www.fec.gov/disclosurep/pnational.do

even rump U requires that a candidate be able to read a bit and then think – pd don’t have a chance to lose his $.

        • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 01:55

Are you sure you know how to read the disclosure statements? The amount you give of $12,149,834 is the amount that was donated to him by private people. If you click his name & then go to the little box at the bottom left it opens the box to show you every donation & expense. He has spent 47 million so far of which 36 million appears to be his own money.

Copyright experts say you don’t have to ask an artist’s permission to
play a popular song at your rallies — as long as the venue where you
play it has what’s known as a blanket license from the performing rightsorganizations ASCAP and BMI. Peter DiCola, who teaches law at Northwestern, says most public venues do have those licenses. But small or unconventional venues may not, including a few that are mentioned by name in the Survivor lawsuit.

      • bpollen May 5th, 2016 at 03:03

Oh, you said it so it must be true, what with you being an intellectual property rights lawyer and all.

      • bpollen May 5th, 2016 at 16:36

The intellectual property lawyer is a big baby… gotta flag contrary responses as spam. Big baby thin-skinned coward.

  3. purplediamond May 4th, 2016 at 22:05

A bunch of little pansy musicians getting all upset at him using their songs? Give me a break!!! He’s not using their songs to make money. They should be happy theirs were picked out of the millions of songs out there. Big babies!

    • whatthe46 May 4th, 2016 at 22:36

you’re just another tRump looser. he has no rights to use their music w/o their permission. plain and simple.

    • burqa May 4th, 2016 at 22:37

It appears you favor a guy who wants to be identified with “a bunch of little pansy musicians” who are “Big babies.”

      • whatthe46 May 4th, 2016 at 22:37

        laughing.

      • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 02:00

Where do you people get your assumptions? No where did I say I supported Trump? I just get annoyed at misinformation. http://www.npr.org/sections/therecord/2012/02/29/147592568/music-in-political-campaigns-101 Copyright experts say you don’t have to ask an artist’s permission to

purpdia etc is what we call little droppings from the sheep.

    • bpollen May 5th, 2016 at 03:01

Yeah, what’s a little theft when yer a billionaire? People don’t deserve to control their own property if somebody else wants it. And how dare they have political opinions? Buncha whiners, right?

So, what other crimes are you in favor of people committing so you can berate those who might disagree with being a victim of those who feel entitled?

    • StoneyCurtisll May 5th, 2016 at 13:01

      Trumps sucks…
And so does anything associated with him..(his supporters included)

    • bpollen May 5th, 2016 at 16:35

Flagged my responses as spam? What a big baby!

      • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 01:29

I never flagged anyone’s response. I believe everyone has a right to express their opinions. Now if you had a post saying,”I made $1500 a day selling blah blah,” THAT I will flag as spam…lol

        • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 01:39

One hundred percent of my replies to you were flagged. I’m sure that it is a total coincidence. There is no other person in existence for whom that is true, but it’s just chance. You make replies that consist of “nuh-uh” to paraphrase, but it’s just happenstance that all my posts to you were flagged… LOL, SMH, LSMFT, PDQ, RSVP, TBD, ASSOL, PMS, TANSTAAFL, RUFKM, GOP, NAMBLA, BMI, IBS, OIC…

          • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 01:48

You believe what you want because i did NOT flag you for spam!! What were your responses because I have not been back on this page since my last comment 4 days ago.

            • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 02:22

              I will.
Ever notice that the majority of people in prison also claim innocence?

              • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 03:35

                I’m not a liar! Kick rocks !

                • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 03:42

You wound me… It doesn’t have the same impact when people can’t see you stomp your feet and pout.

          • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 02:08

Doesn’t it take a bunch of people to flag for spam for a comment to be removed? What are all these supposed to mean? LSMFT, PDQ, RSVP, TBD, ASSOL, PMS, TANSTAAFL, RUFKM, NAMBLA, BMI, IBS, OIC…

            • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 02:17

              Nope.
What do those letters stand for? Let me ask this – ever heard of Google?

              • whatthe46 May 9th, 2016 at 02:17

                lol

              • purplediamond May 9th, 2016 at 03:35

I have been trying to be nice to you but you are a real f-ing a-hole!! I did google them you a-hole! Most of them have a few different meanings so knowing what is in your pea brain is a bit difficult since I lack mind reading skills!

                • bpollen May 9th, 2016 at 03:40

Down to ad-hominem attacks. When you have nothing rational, insult them! Call them names! That’s directly from Playground Rhetoric 101. Three out of four Middle School students recommend it!

Best Stones concert I saw was Greensboro, 1978. As the house lights went down, a rope dropped from the ceiling about 50 feet away from me and a couple guys slid down it and disappeared into the crowd…….great show….

  5. Sanlee53 May 5th, 2016 at 01:45

Trump has tried this about 5 times now with various singer/songwriters! Try reading up on the Copyright Law, Mr. Trump! I’m sure you know all about it, you’re just being arrogant using someone else’s property without their permission! GOTTA PAY TO PLAY!!
