GOP ‘brand damage’

Posted by | May 2, 2016 16:51 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Hillary Clinton would crush either Ted Cruz or Donald Trump, says Florida’s Republican Party.

A new Associated Industries of Florida poll finds Hillary Clinton would crush Donald Trump by 49% to 36% margin if the election were held today.

She would beat Ted Cruz 48% to 39%.

From the memo: “In this critical swing state, it is clear to us that Republicans continue to suffer substantial brand damage amongst all segments of the ascending electorate …and this presidential campaign has clearly exacerbated these attitudes.”

But Donald hasn’t started his ‘yooge’ attack on Hillary yet. He has tipped his hand to his strategy though.

“Hillary is a woman, and I’m not.”.

Pretty devastating stuff once he really starts focusing on Hillary! Oh, wait – no it isn’t.

Republicans are going to lose the election, unless the justice department is suddenly completely replaced with Fox News personalities who have been telling us for months that Hillary is 5 seconds away from being tossed in the pokey.

We’re finding out just how committed the GOP is to their “core values” and “first principles.”
Trunt has invaded and taken the party over with position after position that is at odds with what many, if not most, Republicans have long claimed to stand for.
If there ever was a RINO, Trunt is it.

There is a way out of this.
The GOP could just kick him out of the party.
There is historical precedent for this.
Way wayway back in the day, the Whigs got put out by the policies of President John Tyler* and kicked him out of the party. This was after he had been elected and everything.
The GOP could evict Trump and run Tit Cruz, who more reflects traditional GOP positions.
Since they won’t, and will make excuses for lining up behind Trunt, the party stands shattered and the “true conservatives” exposed as being a small, powerless minority within; which should encourage more moderate Republicans to stop being scared of conservatives and take their party back.

    * Tyler – mighta been Polk, but I’m pretty sure it was Tyler

New poll diagnoses GOP ‘brain damage’ for painting themselves into yet another corner as HRC whips Trump by 49% to 36%, or beats Calgary Cruz 48% to 39%.
