Simpsonville police chief Keith Grounsell’s conduct on social media prompted a 30-day suspension from office without pay. His Facebook posts included controversial remarks about Booker T. Washington and the NAACP, accusations about President Obama’s nationality and sexuality, and the fatal shooting of Walter Scott. Fox Carolina filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and obtained…

which should go without saying that he should lose his fk’n job.

I would not believe these types protects all citizens equally, and they would have to change a lot about themselves to make me believe otherwise.

It would seem like racisim is accepted when there are some who promote their racist beliefs publicly mutiple times and no one bats an eyelash….http://www.news4jax.com/news/lieutenant-under-investigation-for-racist-instagram-post-resigns

“Sheriff Mike Williams said Friday that the behavior Callahan is accused of on social media is unbecoming of a police lieutenant.”
Then make her not be a lieutenant anymore.

Exactly, imagine if I put on my FB that I don’t believe minority students are are as “bright” as white kids. For one, nothing could be further from the truth and two, I would be unemployed as far as jobs in education in Connecticut for life, not suspended. I guess if I was a racist, I picked the wrong profession.

Exactly, I embrace that fact but others would rather keep their heads in the sand then realize we all come from a similar mold. We have just taken on different skin tones due to where our ancestors have lived for thousands of years.

there is a much better video, I found it by accident and can’t find it again. It has the most recent information included, Europeans seem not to have come out of Africa by the route that had been assumed….future Europeans went first to central Asia via the Middle East. And the people who populated Australia came out of Africa first, then another group came out into India, and the people who became Europeans came last.

People adopt lighter skin because of the need to have vitamin D. People who remained near fishing areas had darker skin because of diet, they didn’t need as much sunlight.

It seems like such a trivial difference and yet we have gotten into wars about skin color.

I participated in the genome project in 07, but the tests now tell what part we are Neanderthals and/or Denisovans. So with newer information and tests, I plan to order a new kit today…..it is on sale for DNA Day. I am very excited about joining in.

I found out I am Syrian, Jewish from 2 tribes, related to that Iceman they found in the Alps, and a bunch of other things. I also took one from Ancestry.com that tests for other things, and found I am 12% Irish and 1% Mali, English. The ancestors that I know about come from Germany and England.

I try to encourage others to take the tests too. We really are all cousins…..smiles

              • Suzanne McFly April 25th, 2016 at 14:47

I will buy one of those tests eventually, it would be interesting to know.

            • clemans April 25th, 2016 at 15:31

first decide what information you want. I wanted to know how my maternal line came out of Africa….and help the National Geographic, so I did that test first. Then I wanted to know my I inherited from my ancestors in the last 1,000 yrs. so I did the Ancestry one. I believe that 23 and Me will also tell you what health issues you need to prevent if you want. Tests are between $80-150, depending on a sale or test. Women can only find out how their maternal line came out of Africa.

              • Suzanne McFly April 25th, 2016 at 17:53

Right now I am more interested in the health issue one, that one is more useful. The other one is just for knowledge about the bloodlines I am tied to, that one can wait. Thanks for the information :)

                • clemans April 25th, 2016 at 19:43

the 23 and ME may tell you both things, health and migration path

                  good luck.

Why would the city want someone like this in charge of their police force? He needs to be fired immediately.

    • clemans April 25th, 2016 at 06:46

if the investigation of his posting history is over and if he broke regulations, yes he should. But if it isn’t over they may not want to fire him before they have all there is against him.

We should always get all of the facts before rushing to pass judgement. Sometimes people who say things like that also break other rules or laws too.

  4. StoneyCurtisll April 24th, 2016 at 18:56

One would think that anything posted on line is going to get you in trouble..
Just dont do it….(it’s not that hard)

    • Larry Schmitt April 24th, 2016 at 18:58

Even deleting after you post it doesn’t work. If it’s up there for a nanosecond, someone will save it and it will go viral. They still haven’t learned that yet.

    • whatthe46 April 24th, 2016 at 19:27

i’m actually thankful that they post their stupidity for all to see. he’s been like this since forever and a chief of police as well, who is suppose to protect and serve (everyone). now we know what this bastard has been about for a very long time. if he hadn’t done it we wouldn’t know who we’re dealing with.

    • Larry Schmitt April 24th, 2016 at 19:28

Stupid with a gun is scary, but stupid with a gun and badge is worse

    • The Original Just Me April 25th, 2016 at 06:40

Being Stupid with a Gun and a Badge is being a member of the Republican Militia and law enforcement is a “Yuge” draw for this kind of Specimen.

  7. Lyndia April 24th, 2016 at 23:40

First, Booker T. Washington, was the best friend the whites had, during that era. Secondly, this pos should be fired. He would do better at collecting garbage.

    • The Original Just Me April 25th, 2016 at 06:36

It kind of looks like he is better at Spewing Garbage than collecting it .
