South Carolina Democrats make point by trying to make it hard to get Viagra

Posted by | April 23, 2016 08:02 | Filed under: Politics

It’s a parody, but one with biting implications about the role many government officials have taken in legislating women’s health needs: This past Wednesday in South Carolina, a House subcommittee made up entirely of Democrats and galvanized by Representative Mia McLeod, proposed a bill that would require men seeking a prescription for Viagra to go through…

Now if they just add a mandatory prostate exam, a colonoscopy, and close 90% of the doctor’s offices, the Viagra legislation will be a perfect counter position to what republicans are forcing on women seeking reproductive healthcare.

    • Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 08:44

It won’t affect the congressmen, they have enough money to get what they need through other channels.

      • Budda April 23rd, 2016 at 08:47

But hopefully it might make the point to the dolts that elect these cretins.

        • Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 09:30

But they vote against their own interests all the time. Red staters keep voting for republicans who want to reduce their food stamps and school lunch programs. Evidently they just can’t make the connection between the two.

          • allison1050 April 23rd, 2016 at 10:51

            Dumb is what they are.

      • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker April 23rd, 2016 at 08:57

And………they have government funded single payer healthcare.

      • Red Mann April 23rd, 2016 at 15:54

        Including abortions for their wives/girlfriends/daughters.

        • Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 16:03

But that would never happen, they’re against abortion.

          • Red Mann April 23rd, 2016 at 16:42

Riiiight, and women don’t leave the picket lines, sneak in the back door, have an abortion then go back to picketing. Hypocrites.

  2. Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 08:43

The republicans aren’t bright enough. The point will go right over their heads.

  3. William April 23rd, 2016 at 09:01

    Stop usurping Gods will

    • Larry Schmitt April 23rd, 2016 at 09:27

One way or another, they’ll shoot.

  4. granpa.usthai April 23rd, 2016 at 09:55

    they’ll just move to Florida.

  5. "The Eastern Diamondback" April 23rd, 2016 at 11:17

    What a feminist idiot!

    • Mensa Member April 23rd, 2016 at 11:24

No more idiotic than the anti-feminist men who use the government to micromanage women’s most intimate health decisions.

    • jybarz April 23rd, 2016 at 11:36

It’s got nothing to do with feminism. It’s a Democrats’ counter to draconian anti-abortion legislations the state GOP male legislators love to introduce in states where they’re in majority.

      • Mensa Member April 23rd, 2016 at 11:47

It’s easier just to call women idiots.

  6. jybarz April 23rd, 2016 at 11:45

    Bravo!
    Way to go!
Hit the repuke bastards where it hurts their manhood for attacking womanhood.

    • whatthe46 April 23rd, 2016 at 15:42

exactly, let them see what its like and how foolish it is to keep getting into the private lives of others.

  7. Carla Akins April 23rd, 2016 at 13:31

Who, only does abortions – because Planned Parenthood provides PAP smears, STD testing mammogram referrals, cancer and HIV testing.

    • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 23rd, 2016 at 15:25

Yeah, right. The grocery store sells “TRIPE” but, no one buys it!

      • whatthe46 April 23rd, 2016 at 15:43

damn you truly are one of Drumpf’s poorly educated. you need to do yourself and the rest of society a favor, self abort immediately.

      • bpollen April 25th, 2016 at 01:17

So, if you were saying that the grocery store only sells tripe, you’d be wrong. So even your comeback is as void of fact as your original assertion. Please provide actual verifiable cites for your accusation about their SOLE function. Otherwise there is no reason to buy your argument.

  8. Carla Akins April 23rd, 2016 at 13:40

No one uses abortion as birth control, and stop the name calling.

    • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 23rd, 2016 at 15:23

      YES! They do, LIBERAL!

      • Red Mann April 23rd, 2016 at 15:53

Here we have the Great Speckled Troglodyte, wholly uneducated, no communications skills, foolish bigot. You are exactly the uneducated type the right loves because you’ll ignorantly believe any lie they tell you.

        • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 25th, 2016 at 00:59

Must be smarter than you. I’ve given facts. When ANY of you can argue 58 MILLION then we’ll talk. Tell then don’t bother replying I won’t even bother with an answer.

          • bpollen April 25th, 2016 at 01:33

I can say stuff and claim it to be fact. I remember in school being told that kissing could get a girl pregnant. They said it’s a fact! And I had just as much proof provided for that claim as you have provided for any of yours. Putting your fingers in your ears and going “lalalalalala” doesn’t make it true.

When ANY of you can argue 58 MILLION then we’ll talk.

What the hell does that even mean? Let me try…

When you can argue DUCK then we’ll talk. I got it! That’s great! Bail out when you can’t keep up by issuing nonsensical challenges! And since I did it last, I win!

Remember, you gotta argue DUCK. Go!

          • Red Mann April 25th, 2016 at 02:00

You’re not, you haven’t and WTF?

      • Carla Akins April 23rd, 2016 at 16:55

No they don’t and it’s a ridiculous claim. Few, and I mean incredibly few women of childbearing age could afford to drop $600 every few months as birth control. Regardless, it’s a hugely emotional and difficult decision that one does not make lightly.

Now if you have supportive evidence that shows women routinely use abortion as birth control I would be happy to consider it. I’ll be waiting right here….

        • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 25th, 2016 at 00:17

YES, they do! AND there are programs that make it $300! THAT is cheaper than birth control.

oh, your so called emotional, difficult decision? Yeah, right! I know of too many gals that could prove that wrong in a split second!

YOU will NOT tell ME what I KNOW AS FACT.

      • Mensa Member April 23rd, 2016 at 21:46

        >>YES! They do, LIBERAL!

Do you realize that “LIBERAL!” is not an insult? Even it it’s all caps?

        • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 25th, 2016 at 00:03

If liberal isn’t an insult to you then you’re not smart enough to be a MENSA member.

    • Mensa Member April 23rd, 2016 at 21:45

      >> No one uses abortion as birth control

      Obviously.

But, the so-called “pro-lifers” believe that abortion is all about slu++y women who get free abortions every other week.

  9. allison1050 April 23rd, 2016 at 19:38

    Bwaaaah! ;o))

  10. allison1050 April 23rd, 2016 at 19:40

Why shouldn’t they get a probe up the wazoo (sp)? And if their gawd decided that it shouldn’t work what do they need Viagra for, isn’t it gawd’s plan, her will be done? ;o)

  11. Mensa Member April 23rd, 2016 at 21:39

    >> I’m just as smart as you Mensa member…FACT!

    Your grammar indicates otherwise.

    • "The Eastern Diamondback" April 25th, 2016 at 00:04

      Incorrect.

  12. Sam April 23rd, 2016 at 22:14

Conservatives tell a lot of horror stories about what happens when transgender people are allowed to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity, but Ted Cruz’ spokesman *can’t name one example* of anything bad ever actually happening.

I understand why they need viagra but what Christian value is it to a 60 year old

  13. bpollen April 24th, 2016 at 00:45

    No hard feelings!

  14. bpollen April 25th, 2016 at 01:25

For it to be fact, you have to provide corroboration or mathematical proof. Since you have provided none, it can only be considered an unproven hypothesis. Like trick-down economics. Where’s the proof, Ruth?

And to say that a medical procedure has nothing to do with health is like saying car repairs have nothing to do with the function of your vehicle.

  15. Carla Akins April 25th, 2016 at 07:31

I am done listening to you. After 6 hours at PP this weekend, I don’t need you self-righteous judgement shit. When the day comes that you are forced to give birth against your will, we’ll speak again.
